Very tempted in the Grindhouse version of Gates of Hell. I’m not a big fan of the movie and already have the Arrow remaster but after seeing comparison shots of all the releases, including the Cauldron UHD, this one looks better to me in some way. Also, I think the grindhouse presentation might endear me more to the film. The only thing that gives me pause is the other film included in the drive-in feature, Psycho from Texas. Can anyone sell me on that one?

Its one of the best drive in double features, amazing slip too. I also have the Scorpion blue and Cauldron 4k and would recommend it still.

Would I be correct in guessing the Dark Force Superstore will probably reopen (with Final Exam 4K) sometime next week, and probably not Friday (today) or this weekend?

I got the Film Movement Sarno double feature with MOONLIGHTING WIVES today. The difference in video quality is huge, the FM version was scanned in 2016 from a pretty worn print. The Dark Force Blu is a 2K scan from the negative. This is basically a reverse CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD situation where Film Movement has released a "grindhouse" print version instead of Dark Force!

Watched Neon Maniacs and that really needs a 4k upgrade ! It’s such a colorful film I think it could look great

Are all these Drive-In Double features both HD? I remember those Code Red double-feature blus where the second film would be in SD... I'm excited for a restoration of Rivals, but a little worried that copy is 100% about Dandy.

And if DF does a 4k of Neon Maniacs, which they absolutely should, I hope they reach out to Glass Doll Films (https://www.facebook.com/glassdollfilms) who made a Neon Maniacs documentary, interviewing cast and crew, for a Neon Maniacs special edition they never wound up releasing. Maybe DF could get that doc!

There was some controversy over Psycho from Texas. Bill never definitively came out and said it was true HD. Read into that what you will. It apparently does look much better than the DVD.

Looks bad but not that bad. Funny how the upscaled DVD looks less blocky than the blu lol. Better colors on the blu though for sure.

The weird stuff in this pic was noticeable to me when I watched it. It's like it gets slightly interlaced or something for a second. It's weird.

The color grade makes a huge difference. Color quality and contrast more important than resolution TBH. Same reason why they can get away with so many 4K UHDs sourced from upscaled 2K masters.

Everyone has a different view on what's entertaining. I kept checking the run time on this one while watching it. It's a softcore drama and was one of the few movies I was thinking of selling off but was lazy to do so.

Your mileage might vary if these movies are your thing, but I'd didn't do it for me.
