Is the grain reduction and color timing as bad as the Batman the animated series set?

Grain reduction, yes. Screenshots pages and pages back show it. I don't know what the color timing issues with Batman are. Don't forget all the horrible color banding and color pixelation in Batman.

This is the YouTuber who breakdown his issues with the grain reduction color timing and with some episodes horrible audio quality.

Thanks for the mention. I hope to get my thoughts on the STAS BD release done very soon.

For those who are interested while the set is on sale it is sadly quite a bit like BTAS. You're getting a big improvement over the DVDs but there is DNR application, compression issues and several bits of errors due to it being a WB studio label release and not WAC.

The main problem this time is one episode is severely cropped as noted earlier in the thread and some episodes have audio issues. None are totally defective like BTAS thankfully but they shouldn't have these issues. Some things from the DVD set are still issues here.

The other big issue: not all extras have been ported over including some of the commentaries. So be sure and hang onto your DVDs for those plus to have the exact broadcast look and sound.

At $30 while on sale it's a no brainer in spite of the issues. It fares better than BTAS overall but once again ALL of the issues were avoidable.

Edit: on Gruv with the signup discount it’s under $30.

It almost sounds like a ai upscale from a fan would be a more respectful treatment of some of the dcau shows then what we got.

This slipcase is hilarious. OBVIOUSLY too small for the case, but they still had to include it for all the slipcase freaks.

Dumb question probably, but I just got this set and usually redeem my digital codes on vudu. This code doesn't seem to work there. Can you only redeem the code at WB? If so, is there a WB app to watch the episodes on my tv? Thanks.

VUDU is the only place to redeem/watch WB tv shows. Did you get any kind of message when you tried redeeming the code?

With BTAS, they didn't have enough time to "get it done right". It was originally supposed to be out with the earlier JL release, but things dragged on and then WB just dumped it out when the execs felt it was right enough to make $$$$ for the holiday sale period.

What I ended up having to do was go through wb.com to redeem then it gives you a choice of Vudu or moviepass to redeem through. An extra step that I don't recall having to do before but it seemed to have worked. Thank you for responding in any case!

Watched the Mxy episode on vudu my OLED, compared with The Man Who Killed Batman BTAS episode. I have it on standard, with all the enhancements like motion and noise turned off.

BTAS looks much better, but then again I always thought that series looked nicer. But the scenes flow together and the colors seem to pop better.

Almost finished disc 1. Except for the horribly soft looking opening and ending, the encodes are far superior to Batman's. I don't see that horrible pixelation and banding all over, and it's not quite as soft either. Those discs were messes.

Having not watched this since the Kids WB days, the character designs are also much better than The New Batman Adventures' (which I'm still in the middle of rewatching). Probably because Bruce Timm and friends designed mostly from scratch rather than changing things just for the sake of change, after probably getting bored of working on Batman for those couple of years.

It’s amazing that despite the design and voice not seeming to fit mxyzptlk this series is the only one that pronounces his name right.

For the extras, can anyone do an exact breakdown of what's missing from the DVD? Sorry if this is lazy asking.
