Purchasing region free / region C blu's

I am trying to buy a PS3 that can act as a blu-ray player. I have a choice - to buy in US or in India. I understand that the Indian one will be Region C coded and the US one will be Region A coded (please correct me if this is not right).

I am considering the following criteria to make a decision -
(1) Power support: US bought PS3 will have to be used with a step down transformer in India. Are there any long term problems with using this setup?
(2) Region support: I want to play all the Hollywood blockbusters and Bollywood blockbusters (blu-rays).
(2.a) I gather from this forum that most of the Bollywood blu-rays are going to be region-free. So no problem with either the Indian or the US console/player. Am I right making this assumption?
(2.b) Not all of the Hollywood blu-rays are yet available in India. If they are, what region are they of? If they are not, the only option is to get them from US. Would I be able to play blu-rays purchased both in India (Region C or free) and US (Region A or free) on the PS3/blu-ray player bought in India (Region C) or US (Region A)?

Please advise me on the best possible option. Thanks!
