Criterion sent me 2 scratched blu ray replacements for the same disc recently..so they definitely don’t check their discs closely. It’s weird how it’s become a complete collectors market, but collectors don’t want damaged shit. The scratched disc thing is out of hand, and really squashes the fun out of the fact that we’re in a golden era of riches when it comes to these releases. Some people tend to freak out when their flimsy slipcover has minor damage but don’t care if their disc is swamped with scratches.
