Always appreciated the work Network did with releasing all these titles from my youth. Literally shelves upon shelves of DVDs and Blu-rays from them. Had been holding out for a blu-ray release for The Sweeney series but ordered the DVD set from Amz a short while ago, also dropped Sapphire & Steel in the basket. May go back for more.

I was interested in Out but the release fell out of my mind and I guess that moment has passed.

To save me having to trawl through loads of pages to find the info I'm looking for, can anyone help me out on what DVD releases I should get to have everything to do with the Goodies TV series etc? I currently have The Goodies ...at Last a Second Helping which I got for the extras.

Also do the following have any extras or are they just vanilla releases?

The Goodies ...At Last - Back For More, Again
The Goodies ...At Last the 40th Anniversary!

& I assume the individual Goodies Live DVD contains the full show & NOT the shorter edited boxset version? I did see The Goodies live years ago in Canterbury.

Cost of living to deal with too. Would be lovely to be able to have everything though for sure!

You kind of have to win the lottery then you'd be able to afford everything you want & wouldn't have to worry about things going OOP etc.

Definitely. It would be nice to just log on and go click add to cart, click add to cart ad infinitum!

I did panic buy a couple of Network bits yesterday. Got Executive Stress Complete Series (couldn't find No Job For A Lady Complete Series), Home To Roost Complete Series and Scully Complete Series.

Need to hit the archive and see what else I am missing but sure stuff seems to be going out of stock rapidly and the scalpers can jog on.

Scalpers hoovering up any available stock? Or would stock have to be sent back in order to cover off the dissolvement for sale off of assets? Not a legal expert so just openly speculating.

Network blurays starting to be sold out at OrbitDVD, too.
I suspect scalpers...

Picking up Hammer House of Horrors from ebay at a decent price.

You're probably not gonna want to hear this, but the 1-3 and 4-6 sets were edited by Carlton prior to restoration to remove the ad break captions, so they lose some footage. The Network set is unedited.

One of the great things about Network - they gave you the complete experience, ad bumpers and all - even sometimes down to the countdown clocks at the start.

I don't think No Job For A Lady ever got a complete series set release from network. There is a complete one from Acorn Media in the US though.

Cheers for the heads up, wasn't aware of that one not having a box set. It's on my list hopefully to get in the future if the scalpers don't destroy everything first.

Really good customer service from them, too.

The busted box holding the Python boxsets in - just sent them a pic of the damage and a new box was sent out ASAP

Maybe some can join Arrow CS and shake them up a bit!

Glad I picked up Devil Ship Pirates, The Woman In Black and Dark Eyes of London in a sale last year

I wouldn't blame scalpers entirely -- you can blame me also lol. I searched for available Network titles and pulled out a half dozen or so I that looked interesting to me, that I hadn't yet bought. Figured it might be the last chance and most were still in stock at Rarewaves last night so I put a large batch together to buy.

These aren't titles probably being pressed en masse like standard studio releases to begin with, so stocks are likely pretty low in general. You get a bunch of people like us buying titles and that would probably deplete most regular stocks at some of these sites also.

What you wonder is whether there are stashes in warehouses yet to be distributed -- or if they stopped manufacturing discs already or a while ago. That would play into how available (or not) these titles will be.

BTW Rarewaves still does have a lot of Network titles still in stock (albeit "limited stock"). The Sophia Loren/Elizabeth Taylor disc I bought last night is gone now, but there's still a lot of titles left:

That's good. I was looking at my rather long wish list and they were all sold out... I definitely would jump on any Network title anywhere now if you are interested.

Should I get the first 5 individual volumes of Man in a Suitcase if I already have the Deluxe version of Volume 6 or just get the complete series release?

Ordered a copy of R&H (one I never got around to seeing) and Jack the Ripper earlier. Would kind of prefer to wait and see what happens, but ultimately I guess this stuff could disappear, so better to just buy while available.

It’s quite a horrible situation all round really, and now it seems like there’s pressure to buy stuff you just assume would be readily available for ages
