Im just curious when shopping for blus new, or used, 1st day buys, or pre-orders, and sales.
I do understand there will be many factors to consider such as it all depends on the title, sound quality, and how much you want it, etc. With allthat in mind what would you say "on average" in either dollar price or percentage off does everyone consider to be a great price you cant walk away from? When is the price just too much for you that you find yourself holding off? |

This is pretty much it....everyone has their own limits. Whether it's the amount of money you make, married or single, kids or no kids, or just not wanting to think you're completely ruled by your "crazy blu-ray habit."
Me personally, I think a hot deal is any movie $10 or less before tax. Luckly I'm good at shopping so my shelf and my wallet thank me. |

Generally speaking, anything less than $20 brand new is a good deal for me and there are very few I have paid more than that unless their more than a movie (TV show, etc). They obviously don't hit under $20 very often as new releases but I find some way somehow whether it be coupons, rewards certificates, etc. to knock the price down. However, releases new to blu-ray from a different format should be under $15 to be considered a good deal to me. To each their own, but I tried to give you some numbers to work with at least.
Over $25 and I typically won't buy it. Last edited by Lepidopterous; 07-20-2009 at 02:24 AM. |

for blu's, if it's a movie i don't want day 1, i tend to look for then in the $10-$15 range.
i will not pay more than $20 for a movie unless it's something along the lines of the dark knight, iron man, transformers.....movies i want right away and will watch as soon as i get home. |

Shipping is a non-issue if you hook up with someone who has a PRIME membership. I think up to 5 people can share it. I still think the whole "good deal" thing is totally relative to what the movie is and how badly I personally want it, so it's pointless for me to put a $ figure on it. For example, I wouldn't buy First Blood even if it was $2.00 because I don't care for Stallone. But I'd gladly pay $30 for Transformers 2 because I love the idea of robots from space fighting. ![]() |
