First project will be an animated film. This is separate from the Netflix project though. |

Calling it animated might be a bit of a stretch, granted, but isn't that what Netflix The Dragon Prince is?
It's definitely a "current year" production, but it was much closer to OG Avatar than anything else related to the franchise. Though I do not know Why Netflix has decided to make new series before finishing that one. |

The only one I don't like the look of is Sokka, that's an insane chin and I hope that's just a bad angle/photo. If not, he's going to be too distracting to look at.

Also funny how Daniel Dae Kim went from General Fong in the cartoon to the Fire Lord himself in the live action adaptation. |

I think they all look great, honestly. I celebrate the differences, as that's what I think adaptations should do- make changes where necessary, especially to suit the change in medium. As iconic and nostalgic as some of the designs are, I wouldn't want them to all
look the same. I'm glad they're forming their own identity, with little nods here and there where necessary. I do think it's weird that some "fans" are throwing a fit over Azula. I think many forget that she's 14 in the show. I think it's a mix of how she's drawn and how she's voice acted that makes her seem older, but some of the comments regarding the live-action actress and how young she looks or how she's too round are a little off-putting. Give the poor girl a chance. Azula is barely in the first season anyway, unless they make some changes in this version. I think (or would hope) we've all learned not to judge based on a single still image. Azula's thing, one could argue, was always about acting intimidating over looking intimidating. |
