I'm still a little surprised at the aggressive sales by a lot of retailers for Watchmen and Coraline this week... $20.29 and $19.29 at Fry's, respectively. And Amazon selling both for $20.49, $20.77, $21.99 at BB, etc.
My question is this: Are we starting to see the end of $28 new releases? I mean, these aren't catalog titles.... Watchmen may be the biggest BD release of the year, its a 3-disc set, and we can buy it the first week for only 20 bucks? Just seems like the kind of movie that they wouldn't give away like that. Is this a sign that Blu-ray is finally mainstream enough to get decent price points? |
