yeh I'm just checking vids & pics for damage lol
and trying to avoid watching to much or reading in depth reviews
as want a couple of surprises when opening

don't want to jinx mine, but if it's damaged esp at front,
I'll probably ask for a refund, send back, and buy elsewhere if they won't replace

I got 3 items one was boxset too, recently from Arrow in the sale and they all arrived ok,
but box was very thin cardboard & just had one air packet inside on top

also mine's with Royal Mail, who I think are prob worse at handling than couriers like fed ex,
should get mine on Tuesday, so will find out then

I am in the USA and am fully expecting mine to be destroyed. The damage to local customers orders is disappointing to see.

My copy from HMV should also contain Jaws 2, which may well be providing an extra bit of padding for one side of the box.

Why would anyone who gets so anxious about marks and crushed corners choose a hobby of collecting objects? I'm not a doctor but the most liberating thing they could do is stop collecting stuff and get a new hobby. Like hill walking, cycling or you know, watching movies for the pleasure of watching them.

As someone who hill walks my labrador regularly, I still care if something I buy is dented or not and watch the movies after receiving it, don't think these things are mutually exclusive. You won't catch me wearing lycra though

Unless the outer box is completely destroyed a little dinged corner isn’t going to bother me. Certainly not enough to return a box set over. I guess I just don’t need all the corners of my box sets to be pointy lol.

What a weird take… when you’re spending Ł120 on said item, you expect it to be packaged securely enough for it to arrive without looking like the depot staff have had a game of football with it. You’d expect the discs to arrive without any scratches so why wouldn't the same apply for the packaging?

Yeah when I'm spending Ł120 on a new product. I expect it to be intact with no dings. Mine will be certainly going back if its damaged.

yep for me there's a big difference between a dented/crushed slipcover or case that only costs Ł9.99
compared to dented crushed corners on a special box set costing Ł120

Arrow should have used extra packaging or special packaging for this release
then problem of crushed corners wouldn't exist

People who collect proof precious metal coins - or even bullion coins - can have them graded by specialists, who give the coins a score and then seal it in a plastic slab with the score written on it.
I don't want to give you people any ideas...
But do complain if it's damaged.

I'm not going to lose any sleep over a small dint in the corner. Still, Thankfully, mine turned up in perfect condition.

Watched the Big Boss extras yesterday (still not got around to any of the films yet!) Really enjoyed the feature on the locations then and now, It's surprising seeing how similar some of the locations still are 50 years later. It was nice to have all the extra scenes and bits from different versions collected together with a commentary track too.

I don't worry about every single instance of damage, because that's the reality of manufacturing and storing and sending thousands upon thousands of box sets and slipcovers, but when they send international packages with nothing but 2 air pillows, I have to think this could've been avoided.

It's a rhetorical question. I ask because I don't understand how some get pleasure from their collecting when dinged corners are causing anxiety even before the sets arrive. I get that faulty discs need returning, or why missing scenes or terrible audio makes a movie edition redundant but stressing over package crush in a hobby of importing objects and ordering online for delivery through a postal system that sees parcel tumbled into an endless series of dumpsters before they are "handed to resident" seems counter productive. Hobbies are supposed to relieve stress. Your box set could arrive perfect and your kid could knock it off the shelf anyway. It's only cardboard. I'm not putting myself above anyone here, I like my stuff as mint as possible but I am not going to put myself in an early grave because a spine got creased or a corner crushed. I certainly am not going to contribute to planet-destroying by returning stuff with cosmetic damage, regardless of value. My Kurosawa AK25 dvd import from US for example cost me some Ł200 and arrived with a crushed and split fabric lid but I chose not to return it because every one of the discs were protected by said packaging-it's raison d'etre. I still enjoy having the set and like all other sets people treasure, it's either worthless now or will be later, and probably put in landfill when I'm gone.

Looks like retailers are getting dinged copies as well. Diabolik posted this on Twitter…

If anyone that ordered the UHD Bruce Lee Boxset and doesn't mind a little damage, drop us an email and we can ship you a dinged copy and give you a $12 store credit as well!

They do that with VHS tapes (there's some scathing YouTube videos about the grading), they're worth tens of thousands to some folks who'll never open them. It's probably worth scouring garage sales for some of them!

If flaws bother people then they shouldnt collect vintage italian movie posters......the low quality paper they used didnt help either

german 1sh (dark red really fits this movie)
italian 2sh (english title style , this was pulled....prolly they wanted an italian title as FoF had already been shown with ita title. The color is yellow/orange , like a dawn)
ita 2sh (the one fea ita title , sgd by composer Thomas who even drew notes on it , awesome)
ita 4sh (vhtf this sz poster)
spain 1sh (sgd by composer Thomas , not many sgd Lee posters of him around.....features pagodas despite there not being any in the film , heh. Nice art of Chow Mei too)
UK quad (damaged corner but still nice)
R76 HK 1sh (same art as 1st issue , HK had more darker shades on the art than singapore posters)

FoF ita 2sh & locandina , same art
ita 4h (this one is weird , it features a white thug with nunchucks....only white bad guy in movie is Petrov
ger 1sh (besides the famous jump it also shows pagodas)
UK quad (fist thru stone title)
leb 1sh
R76 HK 1sh (unfortunately HK posters like these are found damaged.....beware rolled bootlegs , pretty much all were factory folded)

WoD sing 1sh (sgd by Ing Sik)
ger 1sh #A & B
R80s arg 1sh (Norris beard variant)
ita 4sh (Lee vs gunman style.....for yrs I wasnt sure it even existed , its that rare. Sgd by Nelsson , havent heard from him for months , is he ill ?)

ETD ger 1sh

GoD yug large mag poster (behind scenes outside shot of Lee holding nunchucks.....you can also see one of Inosantos red sticks , this was sgd by Inosanto/Ing Sik)

A good haul , this

(besides the pulled italian BB poster there were also fotobustas with black snipes on them , those were made to cover the rejected english title , you can still see the original title underneath the snipe....the saw scene also pictured on one of the bustas)
