Hopefully this and several of the other early BD releases will see reissues with great transfers shortly. I know the double dipping will come. I just hope we don't have to wait very long. There's a lot of launch titles I'd have bought in a heartbeat if they looked better.

I think we'd all have The Fifth Element if it would have brought with it the Shock & Awe the Suberbit DVD did.

my favorite line from the ^ review:

Quote:
the image quality of “Swordfish” is brightly colored and highly detailed and helps cement this title as one of the best looking Blu-Ray titles yet released. Detail and color are the two elements that instantly strike the viewer as being truly high definition.

My favorite line from the review is:

As John pointed out in the summary section, Halle Berry looks exquisite in high definition and every pixel is worth a look when she is on screen.

Swordfish (Blu-ray Disc)

By Chad Varnadore

"
Which brings me to my first concern; the video sports such a complete absence of grain that, considering its 35mm origins, makes me question fidelity. It’s sure to look great to the masses that still haven’t acclimated from their former 27” sets and aren’t accustomed to seeing natural film generated noise outside of their local cinema. But, it’s been said by Sony that the filtering of grain prior to compression is one thing that has made VC1 so successful with consumers, not its inherent superiority. And seeing discs like this, as fantastic as it looks, it makes me wonder if such is more than blowing smoke. There are numerous soft spots that just don’t quite fit the occasion....."

"
English and French DD 5.1 and Spanish DD 2.0 sound offerings are included with this release and boy does it get the blood pumping. The quieter moments of the film like to stay up front, but the action sequences are a tour de force of adrenaline pumping effects that completely wrap you in a thick blanket of sound...."
