yeah but one day AI is going to learn to communicate and then extract all the data absorbed by different kinds of software, it’s going to integrate all that data and learn from it, and then it’s going to DESTROY US.

I just watched the trailer on YouTube in 1080p, was this sourced from master tapes and then upscaled? It definitely looks good. If you can get this quality on R.B, I think it’ll be very close to what a proper HD master would be.

Fantastic news about Rocktober Blood and the Gator Bait films. I realize you can't mention specific titles, but...in general...do you think there's a chance for more titles form the Sebastian library? Would love to finally get my hands on legit copies of The Single Girls, The Hitchhikers, On the Air Live with Captain Midnight, Flash and the Firecat, etc., etc.

You could probably create nice new AI upscaled masters on all of the Sebastian movies that don’t have the original 35mm elements available. I recently saw Scream Factory’s release of ‘The Burning (1981)’ on 4K, and I’m 99.99% they used AI upscaling on that, even though it was sourced from the original camera negative. The image and PQ look too surreal and entrancing for it to be true. They did the same thing on the recent Dallas HD remaster that’s on iTunes, the image just looks too good to be true.

I’m fine with it as long is it’s done well, which it has been on those releases I mentioned.

Another probably daft question, please forgive me, i'm from the UK and am a bit late to the party here.

When do the pre orders become available, i'm very keen on ordering Rocktober Blood and some other slashers. I go onto the website and can just see a gift shop page: https://www.terror-vision.com/ but when i go to releases, it just seems to list soundtrack releases? Sorry for being dense, i just don't want to miss out on pre ordering something!

I believe it’s been verified by people who worked on the Dallas remasters that AI-Upscaling-esque software was used on footage that was sourced from 35mm. I don’t have anything against it as the results are very good.

Also, check out the recent ‘The Burning’ 4K, there is an embellishment to the image that creates its own tone for the movie, you can tell when watching it. I have nothing against it, it’s a very interesting effect that adds to the experience.

Your points are heard mate, but fear not. You can rest assured that any title coming from Terror Vision will look the best it can. Horror Workout and Copperhead are fine examples. Check 'em out if you can.

I watch tons of VHS each year. I've also took apart and cleaned around 2,500 VHS tapes by hand and using a rig tape machine, to varying results. That is nearly 10,000 screws I have removed and replaced from VHS tapes. I should have forearms like Popeye I've got an ok eye for VHS/tape masters. You can tell tons of work and love went into those 2 releases especially. I was very impressed. Keep expectations in check, but Rocktober Blood will look the best it can.

Exciting times when movies like Rocktober Blood can finally get some new life. I know we all want 4K transfers, but it just won't happen for every title. This is better than tracking down worn out, oop priced VHS copies. It will still look good.

I’m absolutely fine with it, I think it may be a similar algorithm to what people use on Instagram when they post filters over their video footage and it enhances the entire image.

Would welcome an AI-Upscaled version of ‘Unhinged (1982)’ and definitely Rocktober Blood. The AI Upscaling technology is only going to get better anyway and the studios will probably incorporate it into editing software so I would definitely recommend it for an SD source of Rocktober Blood. From what I understand, it’s the rendering of the footage that takes the longest time (several days or even weeks for a feature movie, done properly).

Cool, I would even welcome a delay on the Rocktober Blood release if it means the best possible PQ with the assistance of AI software, but that’s just my opinion. Also super stoked about the possibility of the Gator Bait 4K, great work locating the original 35mm materials 👍
