I have no idea what I just watched, but I dig it, and Rebecca Hall, as always, is fan-flipping-tastic!!!

Rebecca Hall is the gift that keeps on giving. I can't believe she's not more well known and landing Grade A roles that end up going to lesser actors. She is amazing in this. It's streaming on Shudder if you're not up for a blind-buy.

Does the US/UK blu come with extras?

I was sort of hoping it would come to Criterion knowing IFC Films working relationship with them, but I guess it isn't happening now considering they just put out a blu-ray themselves.

Haven’t watched it yet but just looked and no mention of extras on the back. (U.K. version)

Very curious to check this out. I love Rebecca Hall. Her film Christine (2016) is incredible as well as her performance.

I can watch Rebecca Hall in virtually anything. She's often the only reason I'm watching in the first place. That said, after the underwhelming The Night House and Resurrection, I'm kinda ready to tap out
[Show spoiler]of these quirky, metaphorical psychological thriller Rebecca Hall vehicles that, while taking big swings, seemingly end up still stuck at the plate by their respective endings.

This film
[Show spoiler] plays it straight until just a little over 30 minutes in, when Hall delivers this extended dramatic monologue that, given the context of the scene, is both compelling, sad, horrific, and low-key hilarious. It's at this point where I just took the remainder of the film as a black comedy examination on abusive relationships, motherhood, and how those respective roles can distort one's reality of the world around them.

And I could be way off on that interpretation....but, by the end, I can't say that I cared enough about the film to have the energy to think it through anymore than that anyway.

Caught this yesterday...I knew I was in trouble when I found myself actually getting bored during the movie's central dramatic monologue...
If there was a deeper meaning here, it went over my head and I don't care...

loved THE NIGHT HOUSE-- this one is much more ambiguous-- to the point where my opinion greatly differed within 24 hours of digesting this flick.
My initial reaction was "this is pretentious and unsatisfying" and to an extent it still is. However there are some positives here that make it worth keeping in my collection.

Hall, which goes without saying, is outstanding... again. She is truly one of the best actresses working today. She carries the movie and gives it value in a way that most other actresses couldn't.
The ending, while maddening, is sticking with me as I keep coming up with different analysis of what it meant. My ultimate conclusion is t
[Show spoiler]hat I'm sticking with reality and what IS and ISN'T possible... which makes the ending kind of sad.

For the time being I'll rate this one 3 out of 5 stars....

Wait... there's a 'Rebecca Hall goes Crazy' sub-genre? How many films are there where she goes crazy that it's now become a sub-genre???
