Rebecca Hall is the gift that keeps on giving. I can't believe she's not more well known and landing Grade A roles that end up going to lesser actors. She is amazing in this. It's streaming on Shudder if you're not up for a blind-buy.

I can watch Rebecca Hall in virtually anything. She's often the only reason I'm watching in the first place. That said, after the underwhelming The Night House and Resurrection, I'm kinda ready to tap out
[Show spoiler] This film [Show spoiler] And I could be way off on that interpretation....but, by the end, I can't say that I cared enough about the film to have the energy to think it through anymore than that anyway. |

loved THE NIGHT HOUSE-- this one is much more ambiguous-- to the point where my opinion greatly differed within 24 hours of digesting this flick. My initial reaction was "this is pretentious and unsatisfying" and to an extent it still is. However there are some positives here that make it worth keeping in my collection. Hall, which goes without saying, is outstanding... again. She is truly one of the best actresses working today. She carries the movie and gives it value in a way that most other actresses couldn't. The ending, while maddening, is sticking with me as I keep coming up with different analysis of what it meant. My ultimate conclusion is t [Show spoiler] For the time being I'll rate this one 3 out of 5 stars.... |
