I zoomed the pic in question as best I could and they did look like DVD Video labels for Bad Boys.

Will Moon ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1182345/ ) be released on Blu-ray? I couldn't find anywhere to see it locally. Sometimes smaller/indie films don't get BD releases it seems...

Since Moon only came out about a month ago and is currently roadshowing the indy circuit, it's not time for it to be announced yet

Very likely though

Will MGM be doing a new encode and actually put extras on Rocky I when they release it as part of the boxset, or will is be the same existing Blu-ray? Or is that unknown at this point?

Also, is "Observe and Report" going to be encoded in AVC? Is Warner going AVC? The Press release says AVC but the page says VC-1.

That sounds like good 'poll potential'.
Option #1 - I prefer WHV to use AVC.
Option #2 - I prefer WHV to stay with the VC-1 video codec.
Option #3 - I don't care either way....as long as the poll drives Amir crazy

3! 3!

One thing people forget is that WB owns its own authoring house, GDMX, and except for the occasional work they farm out when they get backed up. So for WB to move to AVC there has to be a real, tangible benefit for doing so, cause they're the ones paying for the encoders

Hi Jeff,

Any word on any Audrey Hepburn films? A remake of My Fair Lady is in the works. Anything about WB releasing the original on Blu? Thx.

I have to say, my Japanese Version of "The Fall" by WB is AVC and is a very nice encode. I didn't notice any of that typical filtering I see with other WB titles (though I assume that has to do with it being outsourced). I really wish Warner would go AVC, and option 3 would only sweeten the deal

But can't we have Option 1 combined with option 3 for good measure?

WB distributes titles for people as well. Grave of the Fireflies and Castle of Cagliostro DVDs I believe were done by them in Japan, and now they're at...Disney and Vap I think? That's why titles like Robin Hood Prince of Thieves had DTS on DVD, even though WB did not use it beyond that 4-title flirtation

You are right. The disc is by Googly and distributed by WB. Still pretty sad when a small company upstages the majority of WB releases.

Default Will Battlestar Galactica be released as individual seasons anytime soon? And how do

Will Battlestar Galactica be released as individual seasons anytime soon? I just can't afford the full complete series in big buy. And how do they break down? I mean I saw season 4.3 in Target, how does the .3 work?

That's .5, same as DVD

While I am unaware of any Blu-ray release for Battlestar Galactica, Ron Moore's West Wing/space above and beyond hybrid show will have individual seasons come out next year

Hi all,

I'm not a usual participant in this thread, but I'd like to know if anyone can give some information regarding the volume of work from David Lean. Do we know for certain yet (or maybe even a rumour) that some of his films are soon to be relased on Blu-ray. I know that Passage To India is out, but I'd love to see some more.

Thank you,

John

Lawrence of Arabia is currently being worked on by Sony. Hasn't been much said about the progress lately and the only speculation about a release date is that we might see it next year. Kwai and Zhivago I believe were rumored but nothing outside of that.

Thank you for that. I had heard the rumour about Kwai and thought there were rumblings about LoA as well. Nice to see that LoA is being worked on. Maybe sometime next year we can expect to see it being released. Again, thank you!

I'm sure Sony will be watching Warner's experiment on GWTW and Oz this Christmas with great interest

Hopefully, the sales will be satisfactory. I have been reading about Sony "working" on a Blu-ray release of LOA for over two years.

Say it ain't so.

To me, there is nothing wrong with the original version and no need to make another.

Audrey is Eliza and I can't imagine anyone other than Rex Harrison as 'enry 'iggins.
