When you say it popped up, do you mean that it went from nonexistent to actually appearing, or from "Coming Soon" to "Add to Cart"?
If you search for it and hit search it won't even show you the steelbook anymore. But if you search for it and then see it pop up on the drop down side menu and then select that you can still get to the listing.

Just finished watching this tonight. My scores:

Picture quality: A
Sound quality: A

Would’ve liked to have picked up the steelbook before it sold out. Oh, well. Definitely not going to pay rape prices on eBay. I’m more than happy with the slipcover version.

Best movie of 2023 is also (so far) the best 4K of 2023.

Just got done watching this and I have to say it looks absolutely great. The detail was really good and I didn't notice any artifact issues or visual problems.

One thing I am wondering about from others here who check out the 4k is do the voices sound more echo-y (can't think of a better term) than what they did I the theater? It seemed like the dialogue audio was elevated over what it was when I saw it in IMAX a few times so wondering if I'm just crazy or I need to do another check on my audio setup. I dont have any dialogue adjustments on the receiver enabled and I haven't noticed other 4K discs sounding like the Oppenheimer dialogue audio did. Interested to hear others thoughts and experiences.

Just curious, what's your grade for the movie itself? I haven't seen it yet, but the people saying it's a 'one and done' watch have me a bit worried. I bit the bullet and bought a copy today at Best Buy. Looking forward to watching it soon.

The 4K disc does not have Dolby Vision. It has HDR10 only.

I can see the argument made for revisionism ruins classic films as to why the TDK trilogy 4K sound was ported over.
Nolan and sound quality are an oxymoron. Even many of his 5.1 mixes are borked. Low or obscured dialog, overpowering bass that is out of balance with the rest of the mix, sometimes compressed dynamics.

Bought this from Walmart today where I work. I was going to the get the Walmart Exclusive packaging but once I looked at it, it looked all cheap ass, so I got the standard 4K.

Typical for a Nolan movie weak black levels.

It already starts at the logo.

*sees that Best Buy has delisted the steelbook*

Guess I'll just get the regular. I don't mind waiting on it, though.

I'd long ranked Batman's audio as the best I've heard on a. 4k disk but the audio on this is right up there with master class

you know a movies good when you can focus for 3 straight hours.

For me, it’s not a “one and done”. The acting, the story, the visuals…all top notch. I don’t have any problems sitting through “long” movies, as long as the story is good (Casino’s and Amadeus’ 3-hour runtimes FLY BY for me).

Oppenheimer’s movie grade: A

You have nothing to worry about. I blind bought it and watched it last night and loved it.

I got the Icon edition from Walmart. The packaging is beautiful but I hate the way the discs are stored. The disc wouldn't just slide out, I had to put fingers on it and pull it.
