When they say "sale ends on the 4th", does anybody know what time that is? I don't remember from past sales and I was hoping the Arrow sale might overlap so I could save some shipping costs.

Usually Midnight ET to be 100% sure. While some prices will stay 50% off for some time, many items will start repricing at ET. Some years it's been in bulk and only a few items stay 50%, some years they change in trickles with increasing large chunks until 1-1:30. It's been rare that the majority have stayed 50% to (or past) 3am ET

Not that I'm aware of, but over the years they have always been small glitches with odd things happening. Most of the odd things tend to happen upfront -- coupons working for a few hrs before being blocked, outgoing B2G1 overlapping with incoming 50% off sale, preorders being allowed 50% off briefly.

I'm going to pat Criterion on the back after a recent interaction with them. I had, literally, a bad disc with my 4K copy of Wings of Desire. I e-mailed the old Mulvaney one that people send to and got a quick response. I let them know it kept freezing and would not play at all until I hit the chapter skip button like 10 times to get past the bad part. Disc was as clean as a baby's ass. No scratches, smudges, etc. I tried it on 3 players with the problem at the same part. I knew it was a badly authored disc. Criterion tried to ask 'the questions', as this release seems to have no problems. I told them right away everything they needed, so they didn't hassle me. So they sent me a replacement and after I replied, they also sent me a label to send it back, as I had a suspicion they wanted me to pay to send it back to them. The new disc was perfect and played fine. They got back to me today thanking me for sending them the bad disc. They had a problem at the same part and acknowledged it. I've dealt with their CS many years ago about another disc issue and all was good then. Glad that their CS still seems to be on top of things. Goes a long way for me.

I do feel bad. If Criterion would up their game on upgrading dvd titles my wishlist would be a lot bigger. Now I’ll foolishly spend that money on toys for the grandkids. Bah, Humbug!

This is great to hear. I had a similar situation with a standard BR of Pickup on South Street. They sent me a replacement even though they didn't have the same problem playing the original disc.

Same here but if Criterion is somehow able to fix "the coins issue" I might pick up their release also,one of my favourite films of all time.

Yeah, mine too (as everyone can probably guess lol). I had also given up hope after waiting so long for a Criterion upgrade that I ordered the Eureka. Unfortunately I foolishly lumped it in an order that included the Arrow Conan 4K box which doesn't come out until January - so I haven't received anything from that order yet.

In the future, if you order direct from Eureka they ship to the US for free.
