I have discovered an interesting "feature" of LG 870 player.
It turns out that LG players are capable of outputting 24p from DVDs, but somehow this is possible only after a 4K BD was played. That puts the player strangely in the "24p" mode. Otherwise, it's 60p all the way for DVDs, and even, surprisingly, for BDs (all my other players output BDs as 24p). Moreover, even unprotected PAL DVD are being played in the 24p mode with this trick! With some stutter, of course ![]() I have a region 1 UBK870, but I assume the image processing should be the same for 80 and 90 models, so quite possibly that "feature" is present on them as well. |
