OK, what part of “I have read and understand these Terms of Service and I fully agree with them” are you having a problem with? Feel free to take legal action against whatever service/studio you are having problems with and let us know the outcome. Oh wait, that could be a big problem for you because you agreed not to take any legal action against them.

As I have posted before, I lost all my paid for content on the Sony FMP-X10. I sold my hardware for about a $400 loss and < $200 lost on software. Not long after Sony closed their movie store the FMP-X10 stopped working. 2006 - Dish Network switched from H.262 to H.264 rendering my > $1000 purchased hardware useless.

Right now we are in limbo on the future of our Zappiti NAS, a > $3500 purchase (price does not include the 9 HHD’s, another $2600).

The one thing that has stood the test of time, physical media. My > 50 year old 33-⅓ LP’s would still play, my > 45 year old audio cassettes still play, my 40 year old CD’s still play just fine. All my D-Theater tapes, DVD, Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray all continue to play.

??

If you don't agree to the TOS you cannot use the service. If you agree to the TOS then you agree to the terms.

Well still they can't put illegal stuff in the TOS and then use them as cover, so stonesfan has a point. I just don't see any action on this front when so many other things are taking precedence. Right now it isn't illegal.

Unfortunately no source just what this John Campea guy said in a video I saw about the subject. He seems anti-physical media from the video, though, so it is probably not true. I also don't think it was for 4k specifically but discs in general. Edit: I would try to find the quote but it's not worth listening to it because it wasn't good commentary and it was made without a source anyway. I probably should just retract that statement above.

It's beside the point. I am done buying things digitally. Yeah I agreed to the terms and conditions to use the service, that doesn't mean they can word things vaguely, buried within pages and pages, that would be overly burdensome - even for lawyers - to read. It's misleading and deceptive. They don't want you to know that you don't really own anything. And I do not agree that these EULAs should shield them from criticism and legal action when they're not being forthcoming and honest about what you're really paying for.

If they told you right up front that you do not really own a digital good, would you have paid for it? Probably not.

Should every company have to continue supporting every digital product they have ever sold forever? It's unreasonable for anyone to believe that a one-time digital purchase should force a company to provide ongoing support for the rest of their life.

If you want a product that will last a long time don't buy a product that requires ongoing support to function. That should be common sense.

Maybe they should give you a non-DRM-protected download like when you buy music.

That would obviously be preferable but I doubt there were many people who thought that's what they were getting.

No one should expect streaming or DRM-protected downloads to last forever. People need to wisen up and stop supporting DRM instead of complaining (or suing companies) when they lose titles.

Absolutely. This is why discs are the only option to actually own something. Like really own it, zero strings attached. Streaming is great for a "rental" or a quick watch of some random content. But legitimately good films and TV shows? Nah, disc or bust. You got nothing with vaporware. They control it and that’s bad for you.

Now that it's finally coming out, my most anticipated is The Abyss.

I think I haven't seen that movie in over 2 decades.

Yeah, hopefully it’s confirmed for U.K. soon.

At least True Lies is a go.

She is great. X, Pearl, Infinity Pool are pretty great and Goth is impressive on all them.

I really wish they were able to conclude Happy Death Day with a Part 3.

With all the direct to streaming movies, I don't see why they couldnt get one done.
