This film was badly in need of a new remaster. The one they used for the BD, had the elements worn very badly. Here's looking forward to a new transfer and this time DTSMA. The "Stargate" sequence ought to rock!!

I'm waiting not for the anniversary edition, but for the standard edition. Why? Because when this thing comes out, the standard edition will loose value and become even LESS expensive!

And perhaps most importantly, the new release will have better quality image compression and audio. The current disc is bettered by the European release and even that one isn't great.

Good to see Lionsgate rereleasing some early BD's. With next year being Total Recall's 20th anniversary, I suppose we'll get a new remastered version of that as well.

Yeah, definitely better picture and audio quality... Worth the upgrade for that alone.

I have the blu and the 2 discs from the "Ultimate" edition on DVD in a 3-disc blu-ray case. Unless this one is a HUGE step up in PQ, why bother double dipping again?

Ya, it's a pretty average Bluray. If they gave it a nicer HD ovehaul I might give it an update.

it's already only $9.99 cheap ass.

and if it's like t2 skynet edition they'll just pull it from shelves. Seen the 2006 t2 in stores lately?

Mmm. Dunno if I'll upgrade. Don't like the art--wrong font for the logo, and showing the back side of the gate makes no sense. (Possibly better than Atlantis season 1 using a blue-ified version of the Milky Way gate, but even that I'm unsure about. )

Did anyone save the artwork? Looks like DVDActive removed it...

According to DVDActive, they have a MSRP of $29.99 listed for this. I wonder what the actual price (hence, Amazon) is going to be?

Will wait to see the difference in video quality from the one I have over this new one before I consider to double dip.

Yes, new Punisher blu would be nice, I've been tempted so many times at the $9.99 price. I love the Jane version of the character, purists be damned. I even got to meet Thomas Jane at Comic -Con, he signed a Punisher poster for me, even took the time to draw a little punisher logo on it! Pretty cool, he was very un-hollywood and very good with the fans in line.

I'd like to see Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis Blus as well. These need to be released.

I have since sold the Blu-ray of the original release, but now I just might get this one since the disc sports not only the extended cut of the film (which is already on the original release), but also the original theatrical version as well! I actually can't wait for this one!

Can't wait.

Now lets hope a new Total Recall and Saw 1 comes out soon.
