The teal is being downplayed bigtime. It literally looks like they took a few scenes out then put a blanket teal tint on the rest of the movie and put the few non teal scenes back in. Excuses about water making everything look teal make no sense. Water will not make stuff like clothes, eyes and teeth teal.

People say T1 T2 and Aliens had teal too but that is wrong. Everybody knows that the teal was added by Cameron for the HD transfers. It is supposed to be BLUE not teal and in this 4k remaster there's teal even when they are above water.

I wish I knew what James Cameron did to some people. Did he kick your dog? I'd totally understand where you're coming from then.

As for me, I am overall pleased with the new transfer, and I’m beside myself happy with the audio. I shall now put you on my ignore list as I really don’t feel like getting banned over someone who just wants to constantly trash this release and not listen to an opposing viewpoint. I give up with these people. There are PLENTY of BLUE (not teal, BLUE) shots in the new transfer. Also, there are plenty of shots that aren’t teal AT ALL. These people are nuts. I’m going away now. I truly believe there are people here with nothing better to do but ruin anyone’s possible enjoyment of ANY release. It’s insane.

I think some people on this forum must have a degree of color blindness and can't sympathise with those of us who are really bothered by teal and can't help but see it as plain as day.

I was just thinking about what makes this movie so special has nothing to do with the presence under the water or the fx. It has everything to do w/ having a vested interest in every single character in the movie. That's what many movies lack today characters you actually care about.

How does the "full-screen," open matte DVD fare against the NA widescreen? With Super 35, I know not all that extra visual real estate will be devoted to rendering portions of the image shared with the widescreen edition, but I remember seeing quite a few 'full' titles edging out their widescreen counterparts--sporting a hair more detail and less compression--for whatever reason... |
