Thumbs up Season's Greetings from the KCC!

Greetings to all of my fellow Kino Lorber enthusiasts! All of us here at The Kitty Cat Condo™ are overjoyed because our KL Winter Wonderland Sale order arrived today along with our November pre-order items (see SPOILER link below), courtesy of UPS! For this evening's Blu-ray entertainment, Chico has narrowed it down to two Westerns and Harpo is going to decide between two science-fiction classics. Something tells me that Chico is leaning heavily toward The Belle Starr Story (1968) and that Harpo might just go with The Questor Tapes (1974). But most important of all: we wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

[Show spoiler]

Christmas Day 1966: Here I am all decked out as The Caped Crusader in my Playskool® Batman outfit, along with the deluxe Batman utility belt. I'm also holding a bendable Green Hornet figure in my right hand. All of these items were Christmas gifts that I received that year. I also included an annotated picture for your convenience. Needless to say, my Christmas back in 1966 was awesome!

The Carry On movies would be awesome to own as well.

I looked it up - StudioCanal own 11 of his films (all but 2 of his 1930s films and some of his early 1940s films), with at least 3 having HD masters (from Blu-rays by Network under license from SC). The full list is below, the * is for the ones released on Blu-ray:

No Limit (1935)
Keep Your Seats (1936)
Feather Your Nest (1937)
Keep Fit (1937)*
I See Ice (1938)
It's In The Air (1938)*
Trouble Brewing (1939)*
Come On George! (1939)
Let George Do It! (1940)
Spare A Copper (1940)
Turned Out Nice Again (1941)

As for the Carry On films, the first 12 from this Wikipedia list here are with StudioCanal, the rest are with ITV, and the final one is with MGM per Park Circus.

Thank you, that is awesome. A shame Carry On Up the Khyber isn't with SC, but you can't have everything. I hope KL is interested.

Very nice looking Edward G. Box set for the next dark side volume!

The Christmas gift that I want most from Kino Lorber Insider is an update on their 4K announcement of A Fistful of Dynamite

The next few Dark Side collections will be Paramount ones, from the Paramount and Republic libraries.

I'm very sorry to report, but the 4K releases of A FISTFUL OF DYNAMITE (DUCK, YOU SUCKER) and CHARLEY VARRICK are now cancelled.

Due to different reasons, the latter being a legal one.

No, none of those are SC in the U.S.

- Timeslip

I have to double check the list to confirm, but I don't think any of these are SC in the U.S.

The Cruel Sea (1953)
The Ship That Died Of Shame (1955)
Summer Holiday (1963)

StudioCanal (both by themselves and by others) have released many more war and musical films overseas on Blu-ray, with these seemingly being the other options:

War:

Convoy (1940)
I Live in Grosvenor Square (1945)
Frieda (1947)
Odette (1950)
Angels One Five (1952)
Appointment In London (1953)
The Intruder (1953)
They Who Dare (1954)
I Was Monty's Double (1958)
The Silent Enemy (1958)

Musicals:

Sally In Our Alley (1931)
Looking On The Bright Side (1932)
Love, Life And Laughter (1934)
Sing As We Go! (1934)
Radio Parade Of 1935 (1935)
The Show Goes On (1937)
Oh... Rosalinda!! (1955)
The Tommy Steele Story (1957)
Six-Five Special (1958)
The Duke Wore Jeans (1958)
It's All Happening (1963)
Catch Us If You Can (1965)

As far as former Lionsgate held StudioCanal British films, these four seem to have been listed digitally from them at one point, but have now seemingly reverted back (all except for the The Magic Box have been released on Blu-ray by StudioCanal themselves or others abroad, The Magic Box was released DVD only in Britain). None were released on disc in the U.S.:

Saraband For Dead Lovers (1948)
Scott Of The Antarctic (1948)
The Winslow Boy (1948)
The Magic Box (1951)
I'm All Right Jack (1959)

The Bold And The Brave (1956) was also digitally released by Lionsgate as well, but there's been no disc release of this in the U.S. or elsewhere, so it's seemingly out.

It's also worth noting that Lionsgate still has digital listings up for The Third Man (1949), Cry, The Beloved Country (1951), and The Ladykillers (1955), so those may seemingly still be with them.
4 of these are with us, potentially 5.

Your list and my list have something in common... a certain studio

Of course, except for Once Upon a Time in the West, which I've heard should be out by 2024.

Kino Insider, as Short Time (1990) is with Gladden Entertainment, does that mean it's through MGM? It hasnt been on any format since VHS in 1990 (maybe laserdisc too) hopefully that one is on someone's radar. Happy holidays!

Kino Insider, any chance of you releasing the Monk movie that dropped recently on Peacock? It would go great with the TV show you've been putting out.

Merry Christmas.

Thank you Kino Lorber for all your fantastic releases!

Just wanted to know if you had any updates on when we can expect the Burt Reynolds films Starting Over and Paternity.

Thanks!
