No smudges or scratches at all on the bottom of the disc. Looked perfect and clean.

That is pretty gnarly. I would go for the replacement.

What player are you using and are you able to test it in a different one?

That’s what a good number of my 10-year-old Lionsgate blu rays look like now. But they have an excuse. They’ve turned a pretty shade of bronze, with little white dots all over the data layer.

I have some that look like that, which play flawless, but others that don't appear to have any oxidation which garble up. My I Am Number Four disc is bronzed and it's a Disney disc. My Lionsgate Swingers and Arrival (DNR is garbage) BDs are still trucking. I wish I fully understood the science behind it. A lot of my old PS2 games look soapy, but no probs, so I don't sweat it anymore.

For my CDs, I have some discs from the early/mid '80s that look like swiss cheese with all the pinholes in the metallic layer, but they still play and secure rip, I also have some other CDs that will not rip anyway/anyhow that look perfect. It's a wild world.

If a UHD is doing this already that's just pitiful. My 2016/2017 early UHDs are all fine last time I watched them.

Had to kick off Halloween weekend with the yearly Halloween 78 watch. Still not a fan of the color grade of the UHD. It just feels too cool to me. It might be accurate but I just don't like it and prefer the warmer grade used on the Anchor DVD.

I can't even count the times I've seen the movie now but it's always engaging and still feels unique.

I agree. It looks great on 4K but not a fan of the colour grading.

I watched the Shout UHD BD recently and thought the color looked great. It was the LG transfer (and going back to that same master with the 2013 BD) where I felt the color was too under-saturated. I just wish the compression was tighter, but it's acceptable enough for me vs watching any other disc.

i own a sony upb-x700 and only just opened up halloween 4k from sf to watch. the 4k disc freezes near the end when jlc hides in the closet just before michael gets shot. did anyone else experience this?

Nope. I have the same player. I've watched the Scream Factory 4K at least a dozen times now and never had a problem with it.

Same player, Sony X700. I own about 30 4K titles and never had a problem with any of them.

No problems on my end and I always watch my discs like a hawk when first viewing. My UHD player is Oppo UDP-203.

Shout!'s pretty easy to work with on replacements. The only one that took the longest was the last replacement for "Cult of Chucky" which took about a month. But, hey, that's beating Arrow's replacement case for the "Hellraiser". Still waiting on a shipping notice on that. Then comes the long overseas shipping process.
