While I'm definitely ordering it, I have two questions:
1) Is there a reason why it doesn't include Dolby Vision?
2) What company is in charge of the encoding? Please let it be FIM.

yeah, it kinda is lame... but this is a case where maybe it'll grow on me. I'm just happy music has been cleared and we are getting a release at all.

We need some clarification from VinSyn on when this actually ships?

They will all have newly commissioned art, like with just about any other label, the artists will change depending on the film. The title coming on Sunday has art from a different artist.

We typically do not do DV at VS, this is no different

Maybe for future titles they can consider offering an original key art variant - even if they have to make it site exclusive- and see which of the two moves more units more quickly.

I remember when this was released. Even though I was a horny, newly minted teen, I had no interest in it whatsoever because it looked like crass pandering to my age group, which was still too young to officially buy tickets to it on their own. Unless you had really lax ticket sellers at your theater.

It has appeal now to me, primarily for nostalgia sake. Which is why new, modern illustrations for the packaging seem so off putting most of the time.

I'll buy it (eventually) in spite of the packaging.

Trying not to come off too negative. It's a coup that VS are the ones to finally be able to release this. Hopefully this means Goodbar won't be too far out in the future either- though I don't think it will be the one at the end of this week.

We will not be releasing a separate slipcase with original art but when the standard editions release later on, they will have reversible art like VS releases do. You can always wait for that if you'd prefer.

That artwork is hideous and I loathe flimsy mediabook packaging, but this was at the top of my most-wanted-on-disc list and I ordered without hesitation. It looks like they have poo smeared over their faces?

Why not just put a regular case in there with the book like Vinegar Syndrome and Arrow do?

This is the first release so honestly not sure. If it sells out quickly, it'll happen right away. If it takes a while, it might be later this year. But a standard edition will inevitably come.
