which will cause WB to go blu exclusive.....seriously if they want to see the true test they need to release every single movie on both formats and then look at the numbers.........I bet matrix and batman sell 3 times as many on blu than hd dvd

At any rate Warner are advertising Matrix and Batman Begins specifically on Blu-ray on their website:

This article could not have spelled it any better: WB are watching and will be watching sales! This Christmas sales should indicate what stance they take. And I do believe that whether or not WB truly mean it IT IS the right approach for them at this moment:

The consumer should decide (translation: SALES).

I think the article clearly sends a message!

I have seen the in-store demo's going for Blu Ray on Batman Begins, along with other titles, but looking at Warner's website, I don't see any release dates for Batman Begins, V or The Matrix? Anyone seen anything out there?

I would think that if Warner wants to see a huge 4th quarter, they would get their key titles out during the holidays.

But you can not purchase them and there is no final box art. Is there anyone we can call or email at Warner to demand these titles?

Talking How great would it be....

How great would it be if they released the Matrix Trilogy and Batman Begins for BD the same day Transformers comes out. We'd totally kill their momentum. Yes, I know that is not going to happen, but I can dream right?

Well, I have just done Warner a small favor by ordering Training Day and Blazing Saddles. I have Troy and Alexander pre-ordered for next week. And of course Blade Runner for later.

The interview sends the message that WB value the voice of the consumer far more than do Paramount/Viacom and Universal. I'm inclined to give WB the benefit of the doubt and take the interview at face value. This holiday I'm betting the farm on Warner BDs.

You know, I've been doing this for 10 years

And EVERYONE always thinks that their favorite title will sell "faster than they anticipate" or "make a lot of money"

Language like that will tune out people inthe power real fast, because it's fanboy talk.Just say "I'll buy it". One is wild speculation, and the other is fact

Hell, there's one TV title that shall remain nameless that only got released because some exec's daughter showed daddy an active fan community and duped him into committiing to the whole thing. It sold like 2000 copies.

Well we know Warner will make a choice but i would have to say blu-ray not just as a fan of blu-ray but because all exclusive studios to blu-ray are realesing tones of blu-ray movies, second more players are coming out which will help!,Profile 1.1 will be here soon which will help with bonus features and stuff, third more people will buy ps3's and buy blu-ray movies, last warner only went with blu-ray to IFA which is also a sign.

And now I've ordered Bullitt also.

Anyone who knows my posting history at AVS knows that I have been very hard on Warner for their low bit-rate encodes, so my support is particularly noteworthy given that.

Prestige pricing and marketing actually works VERY well. Price is definitely not king when you are talking about perceived 'high end' product lines. A lower price can actually make you look very inferior in these markets and seems to be the case here.

...
HD DVD folks seem to think "mass market" priced hardware will be enough to produce "mass market" adoption of HD DVD at Blu-ray's expense. I'd agree to a degree IF HD DVD pricing were comparable to DVD pricing, but it's not.

Sadly, I think the studios may be counting more on the "WOW" effect of the IME experience and other bells and whistles to drive HD adoption (and higher priced discs) than actually PQ/SQ improvements. If this is the case, HD DVD has the current edge because of the Blu-ray profile fiascos.

I think the studios are counting on disc sales.

Yup, looks like your banned. Is it me, or do Blu-supporters get banned a lot more frequently than do the HD DVD counterparts? Even over the smallest of stuff. Anyhow, just wanted to confirm it for ya, sorry to hear this.
