The first Sleepaway Camp I could see the other two they would need to relicense because they are from a different company than the first. But there’s always a chance. I don’t know who owns The Final Terror so IDK.

I feel a Shout Factory dry spell coming on. I'm skipping all the modern stuff and that's what they seem to be doing more of lately. To me, that's a symptom of them running out of titles to license. I think they should expand to gialli and other Italian genres - there's plenty of that still left to mine. Too bad they can't fully utilize the Corman library that they purchased because of the litigation. There's a lot of stuff there they could be reissuing.

I suspect The Final Terror is impossible on 4K. The original camera negative is long missing, probably forever. Other elements, like the extended opening scene and the gore shots cut to secure an R rating seem to be long gone, as well. Scream Factory were able to create the excellent blu-ray by using the best elements of theatrical prints owned by collectors.

MVD looked into the possibility of releasing One Dark Night on 4K, but decided against it, as the material they had looked terrible in 4K. The original camera negative of that film is also missing. MVD also used survivng theatrical prints for the blu-ray, I think. I can imagine the situation might be similar if Scream Factory looked into a 4K for The Final Terror.

Sleepaway Camp might be a possibility, as Scream Factory used the original camera negative for the blu-ray. However, I've read that the OCN of the two sequels are also lost, so they seem unlikely on 4K as well.

I thought MVD's version of One Dark Night looked a little rougher - and brighter - in spots than the Code Red release. Still very serviceable. I don't want to think too much about how awesome a 4K would be if there aren't usable materials for a proper remaster. It's just a damned shame.

Yeah they really cycle between dry spells and busy spells. I remember they spent months putting out nothing interesting and then they got the warner, paramount, and Sony deals which set them up for a few years. Then 4k upgrades gave them some more gas but now that's running out. Scream never really adventures beyond their studio deals and some of their leadership is gone so I don't see them making any exciting deals.

Aside from Timecop, what other LARGO films can we expect to see from Shout? I hope they can do a 4K of Timecop.

With Cliff gone, I really hope that Shout doesn't abandon Japanese cinema. I don't have much hope, but it would be nice to see trends like this continue for Shout for years to come.

I literally just watched Jill Rips on Tubi a few nights ago. I rarely ever watch streaming, but a buddy told me SF has a channel on Tubi. It's one I don't think I have ever seen, so I popped it on. How crazy. Not a bad flick, but I'm glad I watched it for free. It does have some S&M scenes in it. A much lower tier Dolph flick though. $30 saved.

Scream has two Hammers that have 4K scans: Curse of the Werewolf (1961) and The Evil of Frankenstein (1964). They're both Universal and SF previously released them as collector's editions in April and May of 2020.

As they've released 4K scan collector's editions before, first in HD and then UHD, (such as Creepshow (1982) and more recently Tales From the Darkside (1990) among many others) it's certainly possible. But probable...well if I were a betting man I would expect one of these...maybe.

The only other Hammer film that I know of that already has a 4K scan is The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958). That's Sony and they did that one themselves. The only proper HD release was by Indicator UK. So who has a deal with Sony in the US...Mill Creek and they used an old beat-up master which is included in their Hammer Box Set.

Certainly, with that one, I would say all bets are off.

Already over 500 copies of the Tokusatsu Collection have sold. Less than 100 posters left if anyone wants that.
