My copy is out for delivery from Orbitdvd. They pack like a champ. Movie surrounded by bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box. I expect nothing but perfection coming from them, as they have always done with my past orders

I get it. As I've said I buy from the boutique shops too. But sometimes I have to save a bit here and there especially with rising prices.

Rarewaves is great at providing replacements. I just wish they packed better in the first place. Amazon is a lost cause but it would be nice if others didn't try to model their shipping standards to Amazon's.

Received my Original Artwork 4K set from Arrow itself this afternoon. Everything was packed well and the item arrived in excellent condition. I'm not really a fan of the slip over the chipboard however if it provides some protection to the chipboards during transit, then so be it, I guess.

I'm watching the disc now and it looks exquisite.

I would just rather pay a little more for the peace of mind, and not worry about the hassle of doing any returns.

I get it though. Prices on movies are becoming outrageous. I do have something coming from Rarewaves but, it's nothing fancy. So, i'm not to concerned if they just ship it in a bubble mailer.

Has anyone had a chance to compare the UK 4K UHD with the German 4K UHD???

Got my Arrow original art 4K today. Looking very nice.

Not sure how it compares to the US Kino Lorber, but Arrow's artwork are usually spot on at least. :-)

My original artwork edition arrived in mint condition from Arrow. Thankfully they didn’t ship it in an oversized box like they did with Barbarella and The Warriors.

Well that sure sold out quick.

I'm hoping someone compares this to the German version.

This is what the Arrow booklet says about the restoration.

I think that Arrow used the same transfer like Capelight Pictures Germany?

There's only one 4k master from MGM which is what Kino released and Capelight released and now Arrow.

The film has barely launched and the difference in encoding between Arrow Video and Kino Lorber is already striking me... Definitive release, as far as I'm concerned. Quel magnifique film.

I noticed one mistake. It has it's original Stereo sound. Not Mono.

And was regarded at the time as one of the finest examples of what the Dolby System could bring to the table.

The difference here is not surprising! Kino's has a brightness issue that overbakes everything somewhat and clips detail in hightlights. Blatant filtering too. Encode chokes on the grain even worse than Shout's Carrie, which is a better disc in comparison. Arrow's might looked crushed but it's not like that on my TV tho it's certainly darker. Brooke Adams' close-up is a good example of how messy things are on Kino's disc. Arrow handles everything superbly as expected!

Eager to compare them myself. Kind of a shame though, I wanted to compare the encoding on like-for-like releases and now I can't.

These show less differences in brightness
