I have faint hope for that movie. Unlike almost every MCU Phase 4 movie, it wasn't "deliberately" retooled and reshot multiple times. But deliberate or not the results will probably end up being the same. Let's hope I am very wrong

The 3D in this movie was stunning. If you can only afford to get one 3D movie post Endgame from Japan it has to be this one.

Yeah, this was a wonderful 3D movie from start to finish. Could only beaten a bit by a 3D version with the Imax scenes.

If it's a direct digital copy, would the quality be the same, even if it wasn't legit?

Not really, no. They’re putting them on cheap 25GB discs and not 50, so there’s some additional compression. IF they were direct copies ( 1:1), then yes, they’d essentially be the same.

Or just don't give money to bootleggers?

I look at it like you may as well pirate it yourself instead of paying someone else to pirate it for you. Any 3D sales lost to bootleggers IS a bummer with the state of the 3D market right now, but I also understand these expensive Japanese releases aren't feasible for everyone.

I don't care. $5 shipped. Disney have had more than enough of my money, and it's their decision to just release it in Japan.

That's the only way to look at it. There's no reason at all to pay money to criminals.

You pay for a crappy BD-R, you get a crappy BD-R.

I wasn’t a fan of the first film so when I saw multiverse 3D available from Jon at £70 I wasn’t going to buy it, I did however on this occasion go the cheap route and was amazed by the quality of image. Since then I’ve rewatched and liked the first so I may buy multiverse from Japan now.

MoM is not a sequel to the first movie and only has a passing relation to the first movie. MoM is a direct follow up to a D+ show. Personally I'm not buying it however much it costs, but if you like MoM it the cheapest it's ever been right now.

I actually said I wasn’t a fan of the first film. The copy I have of Multiverse looks amazing but I will give some thought to buying the .jp version.

It’s absolutely a sequel to both the first film and the Wandavision series. I like it ok, but not as much as the first film. It’s a pretty good time though IMO, and I’m glad to have it, but then I also quite liked Wandavision.

MoM was a sequel to the first movie in name only. Phase 4 is when Feige to full control of the MCU and by his own words, his mission statement was to have "more female superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe than male superheroes." MoM was meant to be a origin story for whatshername. Even the female sorcerer in end credit scene was his replacement in the comics.
