I appreciate the inclusion of both cuts on the Scream Factory release. The director's cut is superior, but the theatrical version is what I watched countless times on video and I like to switch it up when revisiting.

Thanks for the information! It only showed the BD without the Slipbox in the picture, so I assumed they maybe don’t have the Slipboxes anymore and maybe I should try eBay. I‘m going to give Amazon a Shot now!

It’s not always the case. There was a Slipbox for the Bill & Ted Collection and I saw newer / current buyers receiving this set without the Slipbox. And with Shout / Scream you kinda never know…

Sorry - I thought posting in the Scream Factory thread was enough - but you are very correct - nothing I said applies to Shout Select. There seems to be completely different philosophies about slips between the lines.

And even with Scream, take my point with a grain of salt - it’s just based on observation and personal experience, not some published statement from Scream.

I would not be surprised if we see a 4K of Night of the Creeps this year or next, Shout is definitely upgrading everything they can. No info to back this up, just a hunch.

Should that be the case, maybe they'll upgrade to UHD any one of the three Hammer films that they have that already have 4K masters:

Curse of the Werewolf (1961)
The Evil of Frankenstein (1964)
and
The Vampire Lovers (1970)

It's time, I would say, to see a Hammer film in 4K.

I ended up getting The Burning UHD, Escape From New York UHD, The Sword and the Sorcerer UHD, and the regular Willy's Wonderland UHD with the poster. I also had a code and wasn't charged tax and shipping, so I paid $94.17 for the lot.

Here's hoping that this time around I get everything I ordered, and I won't have to deal with their shitty CS to get scratched discs replaced.
Well, I received this order today. It's all there, which is nice. Unfortunately, the only UHD disc that is not scratched is Willy's Wonderland, which is kinda funny because that one was floating in its case when the box arrived. The Sword and the Sorcerer and Piranha got the worst of it in terms of the severity of the scratches. EFNY comes with 1 UHD and 2 BDs, all of which are scratched.

I love the classic horror movies SF brings us, but I also hate this ****ing company.

Most of the major Warner horror titles that needed a Blu-ray have gotten one except Xtro
Xtro has been out for years on blu-ray. I have a nice collectors edition from Second Sight.

I’m torn on which version of Darkman I should pick up. I want the poster with the regular release but I really want the steelbook too.

I'll probably wind up buying the Lost in Space blu ray. But I'm disappointed they don't have a 4k version.

If Shout releases a 4k version in a year or two, I'm going to be pissed.

Well, I heard back from SF on this scratched discs issue. It's nice to see they're okay with damaged discs that aren't "super" damaged.

Here's my original email.

And their reply.

So, according to SF these are "minor imperfections" that are apparently acceptable on brand new discs bought directly from the company.

Sword and the Sorcerer UHD

The Burning UHD

Escape From New York UHD

Escape From New York BD

Piranha UHD

So their solution to this replication issue is to just saddle customers with damaged product? It really seems like there's been some shift over at SF recently, they DGAF about customers or maybe even physical media any longer.

Pretty sure that’s been their stance for awhile now. They know they’re shipping out scratched discs but aren’t interested in replacing every single disc they sell.

I have a bunch of recent releases that have scratches but all of them have played fine. Is it right to ship damaged product? No, but until they address the issue at the manufacturing level this probably isn’t going to change.

Some of those scratches were bigger than the one I had on my copy of Point Break 4k. They only asked me for a picture. I didn't have to send the movie back either.

Weird.

Just... wow. I hope you rated those replies with "It was bad". I'd probably grab that link and submit it a few extra times for good measure.

Yep. Who knows what their deal is these days? All I know is that I rarely buy their product as it is, because of this happening to me and so many others in the past. I am not an unreasonable person, and as you can see I have been composed and did not resort to anger and petty insults throughout this correspondence, and only showed some frustration when they suggested I return this shit on my own dime.

Here's a bit more, and where it's at right now. Clearly they are going back and forth on their own "policy" in an attempt to either have me pay for return shipping, or for me to just drop the issue. At this point I am inclined to accept the two replacement discs just to be done with this.

Whatever the outcome of this will be, it is safe to say I will never, ever purchase another SF product from anyone that is not opened and / or used, so I can see the condition of the discs before I buy them. No matter how good their deals may be or whatever they're giving away for free, this is it. I'm done.
