Astrally Inflicted Detail Smearing is a deadly malady suffered when any filthy encode buggers an otherwise healthy new 4k scan. It’s quite serious and typically fatal. The best preventative measure against it is education of the populace on how to spot the symptoms and avoid risk.

I'm not really joking though Velvs, you're eager enough to chalk this stuff up to "grainy skies" or whatever and I'm genuinely happy that you're happy, it doesn't have to turn into a culture war. It's hard enough arguing against Andreas all the time re: the importance of compression. But I can and do see this stuff, it's my gift but is also my curse.

That's what I am waiting for also. After the initial Argento Ltd Editions releases from Arrow pretty much had the same content in their booklet as that of their BD counterpart, I have decdied to just buy the standalone 4K's of the BD Ltd editions I've had.

Suckz-2-B.U. is a really underrated 90s film not enough people talk about. The scene when James Spader winks at Brad Pitt and he does a roller flip double into his knees? Iconic.

Guess I'm late to the game on this, but what's the issue with the Kino disc? I mean I know Arrow generally has better encodes and such and I prefer them over most US releases, but I've got the Kino disc and wasn't planning on getting the Arrow one.

I really enjoyed the Kino release when I watched it, but this was a blind buy for me and was one of those situations (and I have this situation a lot) where I'm simply enjoying the film so much that I'm just not paying a lot of attention to the PQ. But apparently it looks like ****.

Not shit, my review is still up somewhere in this thread and I stand by every word, it's a lovely new transfer given some rather spotty encoding by Kino which is especially grotty in HDR10. DV makes it look betterer but still not as good as it could be, and the supremely competent Arrow release gives it the encode it deserves.

God damn, does anybody do a "perfect" release anymore? Someone on Facebook just said there's a "weird quality drop" where the picture is "sub DVD quality" on the new VS release of "5 Card Stud" during the opening card scene. No word on if it's a disc issue or just the way the print was.

But anyway, I just replaced my BU release of "House By The Cemetery" with the Arrow one, guess I might do the same here and get the Arrow release of "Body Snatchers."
