If it's like Carnivale of Cartoon. DONT BUY THIS. It's 480p upconverted to 1080p and look hideous compared to Futurama and Simpsons Movie...

I think it's safe to say no one buys or watches any Family Guy for the stellar video...

I wonder if this new Family Guy SW parody will be like "Empire Strikes Back" -- Stewie kicks everyone's ass and gets the upper hand.

For anyone who is wondering why it's called Something, Something, Something, Something Dark Side needs to catch up on their Family Guy episodes.

Just because it doesn't look as good as other HD content doesn't mean that it's upscaled SD. And just because it's made in 4:3 doesn't mean it cannot be HD.

Can you cite a source that indicates the material was made in ONLY 480p and upscaled to 1080p?

LOl mY 106' INCH 1080p projector can easily detect that, with the help of my eyes. It's HORRENDOUS. there's HUGE amount of jaggies because of the lower rez.

Put that and after put Futurama. With is THE SAME STYLE OF ANIMATION and you'll go BLIND

Please when you talk about a title...own it! I own the carnivales or cartoon.. Knowing it's 4x3 because it's written in the back and i don't care because if it's 1080p it's fine (i own many 4x3 TRUE 1080p movies in Black and White, Star trek.. etc..). This one is just BAD upconverted video...

I'am not saying This disc will be like that. But i warn anybody that would cry paying 5-10$ Premium for this Blu-ray (about that in Street price)

jaggies can come from more than low resolution

Just because two things are both traditional animation doesn't mean that they will look the same. They will likely have different lineweights and different definition to the lineart, as well as numerous other basic technical aspects of the art.

Frankly, I would be a little weirded out if the lineart style appeared the same between the two titles, since they're not even handled by the same production company as far as I know.

I do own it. It being 4:3 doesn't mean a damn thing.

I tried doing a little research on it, and all I could find were a TON of unsubstantiated claims. People seem to think that because the lineart isn't the most defined of 1080p lineart and that it's 4:3, it HAS to be upscaled. Cite a source, otherwise all you've got is baseless speculation.

No, they'll release this one on Blu, and then eventually Blue Harvest will come out on Blu, and then they'll do a third (which I'm thinking might be titled either Something, Something, Something Complete or Revenge of the Giggity). And THEN... they'll release all 3 of them in some sort of limited edition Stewie-as-Darth-Vader gift set, complete with stickers, a special features disc, and poster.

Well, that's what George would do. Dunno abouth Seth.

Good news:

Digital Copy with the Blu-Ray! (they better not pull an "Amadeus" and issue the DC as WM only!)

This will go perfectly with my digital copy of Blue Harvest (one of the first DVDs to contain a digital copy)

I was able to watch this over the weekend (seriously it isn't hard to find online). I thought it was great i liked it better then blue harvest. some of the highlights for me included

[Show spoiler] Peter's response to leia's "i love you line"
-Peter's carbonite frozen position
-Brians line about Lando's clothes
-stewie choke hold jerking off the black crewman
-"Even though we know where he is, let's wait 3 years to go get him"
-The entire Hoth battle was hilarious...ROBOT CAMELS!
-"Did you see a hand come by here?"
-"Carolos spicey wiener"

There was tons more stuff i loved and some i didn't but the good far outweighed the bad and this is well worth it for any star wars or family guy fan, can't wait untill we get the return of the jedi spoof, originally called "the Great Mupet Caper" but now called "we have a bad feeling about this" but thats probabaly a good 2 years off

thats really weird that they are releasing the BD/DVD first then... figure they can make more $$ of the HV release than airing it new??
