Well, I certainly wasn't expecting there to be a Fun City Editions sale as well this coming weekend. There are a couple of their titles on my want list that I would like to get sooner rather than later.

It is a really solid set overall. Not exactly feel-good movies, but intense and interesting. Hope you can snag a copy at some point

I grabbed my copy from Deep Discount when they had a 15% coupon. Keep an eye out for the next coupon and see how it looks with free shipping.

Suggests the slipcover is only available via their site. So the regular retail version wouldn't get a slip at all? That's a first for FCE, right (since the split from OCN)?

Saw the Bad Company announcement on FCE's Facebook page earlier (a nice surprise this. I'm not sure if I've heard of the film, but having watched the trailer posted above (thanks Bradsdadg), it looks very good (one of my favourite film and TV genres is westerns). Jeff Bridges aside, I recognised David Huddleston and Ed Lauter).

A bit behind with getting the FCE titles I want to get. The first title I bought directly from them was Primetime Panic: Volume Two (hope a third volume is in the works (The Secret Night Caller (the cast including one of my favourite actors, Robert Reed (mainly from his recurring appearances on the series Mannix) I would like to see in a future volume (if it was available). Next on my list are Fatal Femmes and T.R. Baskin (the latter I'm probably going to get next as what is pulling me towards getting that one next is the Chicago locations (one of the screencaptures/screenshots I've seen in a review shows a location in the background that is very familiar to me from watching the One Chicago shows (a circular tower car park).

If you're into old Chicago locations, you should check out

Stony Island. Andrew Davis made it and subsequently was offered the chance to direct Code of Silence because of his intimate knowledge of the city. Which of course, he accepted.

I'm all caught up with FCE, but everyone keeps chattering about T.R. Baskin, so I will likely throw that in with my preorder of Bad Company even though I really wasn't particularly drawn to it.

Yeah

OrbitDVD has this for $21.99 with no slip.

FCE has it for $30 with the slip.

$8 for a slip?? Does the slip have gold plating on it or something?

VS's films have a slip/no slip price difference of about $2 to $3... $8 is crazy!

Not to mention... $30 for a film now from them?? And it's not 4K UHD??

I used to like this label... but... anymore...

Thanks for bringing up the film Stony Island. Have checked it out and it sounds like it would be right up Fun City Editions' street.

Buy them without the slip then, some of these Blu-rays have been comprehensive and who knows when another version is coming
I have been able to score a couple second hand without the slip cover for under $20

While I don't own every FCE release that has been done... I do own most of them...

And all but one has a slip (I missed out on the Alphabet City slip)...

If I pick this one up... I want the slip.

But $8 extra for it??

Just seems pretty unreasonable to me...

Slipcovers are multipurpose. For instance, they make excellent kindling.

I don't think $30 is that much for a slipcover version of a film I want to get. The fact is, they weren't able to stay afloat as a company being a partner label with VS. I don't think people realize how tight the margins are with some of these small boutique labels. We are seeing it affect a few of them out there now. If it's paying 2 bucks more for a slip, or not having them around in the future, I'll pay the 2 bucks.
