No disc for the physical copy, at least not when it launches this August. Not clear if this is all platforms...it seems the FAQ is referring to the PC version though, so a disc is not typically expected.

Kena on PS5/PS4 didn't offer discs initially. It really has to do with it being their first game, and digital is free to distribute, while disc games cost money up front to produce, package, distribute, stock, export. A huge investment and risk for disc versions. One reason digital is cheaper and offers more profits for developers/distributors.
I prefer discs for larger games, but understand digital for small games or indie games. As far as WuKong Black Myth, I'm on the fence with the game and will wait and see how it does. They make these games intentionally very difficult, so it's going to take trial and error to succeed. I'm playing some classic style retro games now that are like that, but thankfully offer endless lives and continues. When it's only 3 continues, that is frustrating to get so far and then have to start entirely over again to just get back to the point you died in the game. |

Well that's a good reason to hold off lol.
Plus I don't want to play a game that feels impossible. |

I can bet this Wukong Black Myth 2024 game will do really well with those who enjoy a brutal challenge with lots of long health tough bosses to learn their patterns to defeat. The game looks amazing for the graphics and will be a nice showcase for PS5's power hopefully if the resolution can match with frames per second.
Great to see it finally being released. It was announced prior to PS5 it seems way back in 2020, August per the first post. I was thinking this could've been another no show like Little Devil Inside, which started back in 2015 and will never be completed. Those developers got the funding and then never followed through it seems. This one is on track, so credit to the developers. I'll probably give it a go when it's 19.99. Looks brutal for the difficulty IMO. I don't want to spend top dollar on a game that requires tons of trial and error gameplay which can be frustrating and not that fun. |

Anybody else watch the trailer and notice moments of slow down during panning shots and sometimes the action?
I think people claim we rely too much on Digital Foundry but once this launches later this month, i'm sure we'll have a better idea and wouldn't be surprised to see a future patch to improve performance. Looks great though. Think it will review well and be a definite title to pick up for people looking to scratch another itch near Elden Ring. |

Typically higher level enemies have attacks that cannot be blocked or maybe enemies can still cause some damage if you're not blocking with something that causes total damage negation. That said, most gameplay i saw, i swear there's at least a couple times we saw blocking, but there's so many "samey" games that you probably could be forgiven for confusing them with this one lol |

From that video above, 10 things, they mention difficulty possibly like Jedi Fallen Order. Then showed an article of a Sparse Game Map. But did mention positive reviews overall for the press demo.
I'd really want a free demo on PS5 for Black Myth Wukong. There is an indie game already available called Wukong, not to be confused with this game. |

Recently upgraded to an RTX 4070 laptop and it included a code for this game. It’s preloaded in Steam so I’ll hopefully get to play it in a few days when it unlocks. Originally planned to play on PS5, if I have a good time on PC I’ll probably grab the console version during a holiday discount.

I think it's pretty funny that most of us older gamers have got much more accustomed to basically not buying on launch the majority of games anymore since almost all developers have proven useless and deceitful in how their games have looked and played since especially the PS3 gen onwards. Watch_Dogs may not have been the first game to be that downgraded but its the most high profile example to go with imo.
Black Myth Wukong also started off as almost vapor ware with a flashy trailer by an almost single person looking team but it's here now and reality. |
