Heck yes spread the word indeed I’ll be buying this day one no matter what I kind of figured it would happen at some point, but I didn’t think it would end up happening so soon.

I really need to buy the Maniac Cop films I don’t own a single one this year has been incredible with 4K UHD horror titles. I mean Phantoms, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and a huge number of others plus potentially Night of the Creeps too this is crazy.

There are still plenty of Independent Horror Films stuck in streaming hell that would be ripe for a Blu Ray release. Add in some of the larger Streaming exclusives (Hellraiser and Texas Chainsaw Massacre come to mind) and I feel like those are the films Scream Factory should be making concerted efforts to grab at this point. There are still plenty of older films that can be released yes, and I do hope they continue indefinitely as well, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't chomping at the bit for a Hellraiser and TCM Blu Ray/4k release along with many other modern indie/streaming horror releases.

I thought I heard that Night Life 1989 was coming out on Blu ray on one of these forums. I wonder if it was the Scream Factory forum? Anyway i love that underrated zombie gem

And The Stepfather.

Actually, it's about time all 3 Stepfathers got better treatment since apparently they're all under Shout's control now. Last releases were a pre-Scream Factory blu-ray for 1, the Synapse DVD for 2 and the VHS for 3. Crazy.

Aren't film elements the hold up? Not sure what elements they used for the original on Blu, but I thought that would have received a better scan by now.

I personally enjoy all 3. A boxset would be nice to have on the shelf.

I'd be okay with a remaster of the first Stepfather that includes the two sequels as SD extras.

There's a few horror films that have never been released on disc that i'm surprised no label is touching. Like Voodoo Dawn (1990) and The Sleeping Car (1990).

^ I think when Synapse released Stepfather 2 on DVD, they said there were no elements. I never upgraded from the old Miramax DVD.

With how fast the year has gone so far, I can't remember now if I watched the Stepfather trilogy late last year or during the first few weeks of this year (Shout's Blu-ray, Synapse's DVD and a television screening respectively). Definitely watched the Stepfather remake earlier this year (from a television screening). I enjoyed all three films, the original the most. While having
[Show spoiler]Terry O'Quinn back for Stepfather III would have made things even better, I still think they did a decent job with it and the trilogy's story came to a satisfying conclusion.

Would definitely love a boxset of the trilogy (totally agree with you Joel), as well as a US Blu-ray release of another Terry O'Quinn-starring horror/thriller film from around the same time as the first two Stepfather films, Pin (watched Arrow's UK DVD release around the same time as I watched Shout's Blu-ray of the original Stepfather).

I think Shout has a lot of movies to get from, I made a wish list a while back that I made to help people to vote for what they want Scream to release, (currently working on removing a ton of titles already released,) but there is still a lot of other titles not yet released, or at the very least not released to "our" standards (more from the actual studio and they make it bare bones)

I would love help to update this poll and open it up again, but I think it's safe to say they have plenty of titles to get/release, they just can't be picky, but I also assume the majority of what I would love to be released would be Shout Factory website exclusives, but still better than nothing

The remake isn't half bad. Rewatched it a couple months back and found it enjoyable. The original is the best, but the sequels get plenty play from me. I throw on The Stepfather III VHS now and again too. That one was always prominent on the shelf in my local rental shop back in the day.

Fingers crossed for a Stepfather boxset.

Both sequels already have (very dated) HD masters, so they wouldn't even need to be SD. I just wish someone would get them out in the US in whatever the best condition possible would be.

EDIT: or at least the 2nd one has an HD master because that's what was used for TV broadcasts and bootleg blu-rays, I might be wrong but I think the third one also had some overseas TV broadcasts in HD as well but I don't see it available anywhere streaming in anything but SD.

Sleeping Car definitely, who is the rights holder? It looks completely independently produced?

Every boutique at this point would take what content they could get. Anything not released and not in anyone's pipeline has rights or elements issues. Those 2 likely fall within 1 or the other issue or both.

The VHS version of The Sleeping Car is listed as being 93 mins long, the DVD as 83 mins, so it could be an elements issue.

Vidmark is listed as the production company, and their production credits list is very long, with different labels releasing a bunch of their titles. According to wiki, Trimark are owned by Lionsgate, but ‘The Dentist’ was released recently by Vestron, so I’m not sure exactly how accurate this information is.
