I too, buy what I want. Though if I am trying to decide between two movies, and one is Warner, I will pick that one. So it does help with my indecisiveness.

Default Departed & Target increasing Blu Ray space at the expense of HD

Departed for me I also bought Goodfellas last week, we have to remember to buy movies all through the year not just September the 18th. My thing is huge support one day is not going to win the war it may win a battle, but so what.

Target increasing Blu Ray space at the expense of HD DVD!

"We'll go through them like sh** through a goose." George S. Patton

By them he ment the Axis but change that to HD DVD.

Once I buy the Departed 3 of my 7 discs will be Warner Brothers. If Batman Begins was out in Blu 1:2 of my discs would be Warner.

I must say im totally blown away by some of these responses! Where in my post did i say buy a movie thats made by warner that sucks? I was simply seeing if there was enough interest in the upcoming warner movies to organize a buy-a-thon. Its very disappointing how outright rude and nasty some people on this forum have become.

I like the Patton quote, but I like another of his better:

The meaning of war is: that you should'nt die for your country, it means make the other son of a ***** die for his! Same goes for the other format!

I wouldn't say anyone was rude or nasty...I mean really. For Warner to get our $$$ they still have to give us customers top quality titles and with top PQ and SQ. No way in hell am I buying a movie that I can only see myslef watching once or maybe even twice. Shit I could rent the average movie 3 or 4 times and it would still be cheaper than buying. That means that the titles I choose to buy need to be ones in for the long haul. Ones that i will still throw in my player 2, 3 and 5 years down the line. Not just watch once or twice in the next 3-6 months and never ever watch again. That is why I am really trying hard to concentrate on quality. Titles like Master and Commander go along ways when you buy them because I coudl watch the movie once every 6 months or year for a long time. That is how we should all buy our movies. QUALITY>QUANTITY

Default Mr. Two Face.

This format war just get's more silly as time goes on. Now there is TotalHD proposed by Warner. One side is blu and the other is HD-DVD. How would the case look - blu on one side and red on the other? What side gets to face out when it is in the rack? I don't buy HD-DVD, too bad I forgot to turn it around to see that It had blu on the other side!!!

And if I did get it, how many times will I get pissed because I put the disc in the wrong way. All the more reasion to spend extra on a combo-player so it will work no matter witch way I put it in.

On the other hand, perhaps they have a point. The CD should have been the size of thoes old 45's. Digital on one side and still be playable on my turntable on the other. Think of how many more CD's they would have sold in the beginning.

I heard it was a flipper disc. While they are at it, lets include the DVD version so we have all three to choose from. What a great idea - we can have 3 diffrent colored discs to choose from in a master menu before we reach the main menu.

This is so beyond M$ core competancy to suggest "buying a studio". So far fetched it's never going to happen. It's becoming an Urban Legend to suggest that M$ just has endless bags of cash to buy anything in sight. Matter of fact, M$ actually buys very small tech companies that have unique competancies with large potential ROI prospects.

The combined net worth of the Studios and CE companies in the BDA far exceeds the size of M$...by Billions and Billions. I wouldn't lose any sleep about M$ buying WB.

Do like the OP suggests...support WB and buy their BD's titles.

This contributed **so much** to the OP's thread.

Every week there's a new announcement and everyone jumps up and says "support these guys" "buy their movies!" .... it gets very pathetic. The studios should support us as consumers, we buy their products and keep their companies alive why should we beg for their products?

This just seems like a bad reason to buy movies, because of panic.

Buy-a-thon? Love it, why? cause its for a positive reason, 10,000 members, a celebration.

My apologies to the OP for being rude, i hope you can understand where i was coming from.....oh and the fact that i was steaming drunk as well! He he

You're kidding right?
You don't think selling a million BD's would sway Warner?

At Warner's online site, you can use the Online Discount Code throught 9/30/07 to get 25% off their already low prices for many of their products. The code is RNFS.

This discount applies not only for Blu-rays already released, but also for a number of their releases which are currently pre-orders. For example, among my preorders are Blade Runner: Complete Collector's Edition (BD) for $22.46 and Deliverance (BD) for $14.96. The prices are unbelievably good and include a wide selection. I ordered 12 movies from the site last night. And cancelled some of my Amazon pre-orders. Where possible I prefer to buy directly from the studio.

Maybe this deserves a separate thread.

http://whv.warnerbros.com/WHVPORTAL/...tleORCastCrew=

And when you click on "Add to Cart and over there add the Discount Code, the final lower price will appear. And for orders over $50 shipping is free. And, depending on what state you're in there is no sales tax (I'm in Maryland and there is no tax); sales tax apparently depends upon whether there's a Warners physical presence in your state.
