I'm guessing that Old Gold Media doesn't have a website yet - at least, I can't find one.

Just had a quick play of the discs - they still have the Network logo during the startup messages.

I guess they're selling old Network stock as that's what someone I asked at the London Film Fair last month told me.

Widows is back out on BD on 9 September according to a listing that went up at Amazon today. Capital City, The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes and AJ Wentworth, BA are all out on DVD the same day.

And I don't think it's been mentioned that the BBC are re-releasing a few of their own programmes that Network had the rights to. All Passion Spent and The Life and Times of David Lloyd George are both out on 12 August, with Shoestring on 2 September. All on DVD.

The Norman Conquests arrived today, this time there's no Network logo among the start-up messages.

I presume they are using existing assets where available and only removing Network branding on new disc runs. Makes sense. I would presume they are the exact same encodes otherwise.

Watched The Norman Conquests over the weekend. More proof, if any were needed, of how inadequate and embarrassingly bad current UK TV has become. I've stopped watching broadcast TV now - no longer have access to it. No aerial, no Sky box, no streaming TV, and now no need for a TV licence. I just watch classic TV on DVD and blu-ray.

Looking forward with keenness to see what Terry's All Gold Media will be releasing in the future - there's a few older Network releases that I still don't have in my collection, and hoping we might get some new surprises thrown in.

Sorry I’ve only just seen this, but which Watching episode has been removed from ITVX?

IIRC the Christmas special is missing, the censored episode is the one where it finishes with them ordering Chinese food...you can possibly guess why it was removed.

Yes, I can guess why.

God, I hate this Stalin-esque rewriting/re-editing of history we’re currently going through.

That's why I bought the Network DVD set. No messing then. Same with Goodnight Sweetheart.

Same here. It’s all I watch. I don’t have access to broadcast TV anymore (haven’t for about 5 years now). No TV signal, no TV licence.

That is a major reason why I buy physical media, once you have it can't be withdrawn or censored. However, one day I might get a visit from the Fahrenheit 451 firemen for having a secret video library.

All the better, what you would be paying for a TV licence, £169.50p, can go into the pot for buying more discs.

Same here. Well it's the main reason *now*. I've been collecting my physical media library for years (until streaming it was the only way to get hold of all of these classic series). I wouldn't touch streaming services now. All British TV made before 2010 is heavily censored and edited to fit the new regime. I'll stick to DVD - it's not Stalin's Russia in my house.

£169 for a TV licence now!! Glad I'm out of that nonsense.

Not sure if it's coincidence with that Chaplin release but there's a very interesting sounding Chaplin documentary coming soon:

Teaser - Chaplin | Spirit of The Tramp - YouTube
Definitely getting the Chaplin title from this batch. I'm hoping the other silent film director documentary mini-series Kevin Brownlow made also get released. Never got round to getting any of them.

Harold Lloyd: The Third Genius is available in its entirety on the Criterion release of Safety Last.

Buster Keaton: A Hard Act To Follow did get a Network release, but it sold out a while ago and they accidentally released a 71 edit without captioning and with some temporary graphics etc. (It isn't impossible that the correct version was wiped and the digitised 71 edit is all that exists.) Its followup bonus episode 'So Funny It Hurt' is currently on the Criterion release of The Cameraman.

Universal Horror is on the Universal Blu-ray of the James Whale Frankenstein.

The Tramp And The Dictator is on the Curzon and Criterion releases of The Great Dictator.

Hollywood hasn't been available since the VHS/Laserdisc days. That should be quite easy to put out these days as virtually every clip in it is public domain now. Fremantle copyright.

There may be others that have had commercial releases.
