I never buy multiple-disc Steelbooks entirely because of the stacked discs. Is the trade-off supposed to be because there's color artwork on the inside? Never understood it. I will never buy something I'm extremely into with stacked disc, like the first 7 Ultraman releases. I even passed on the orginal Star Trek Steelbook.

It's just lazy, thinking that they have an extra-wide hub to deal with for discs. People wouldn't mind paying $70 if the discs were separated, sad but true.

Crazy how packaging designers still haven’t figured out a satisfactory way to contain discs. Every design I’ve come across is flawed in some way. Having said that, I don’t have anything against the stacking method. I’ve never had a stacked disc come loose or had a floater in the case. And I don’t think scratching is an issue. Stacked discs kind of float and are spaced in a way that there’s very little contact between discs. It’s not like they press hard against each other.

Yeah I wasn't aware people didn't like "stacked disc" steelbook releases. I have zero issues with them.

Dark Sky's site has started selling 50th anniversary Texas Chain Saw Massacre merchandise, so I'm guessing that's coming soon.

I guess it's also safe to assume this will be the new Steelbook art:

I think this might be the first stacked disc case I've ever got, which honestly is hard to believe as I have around 2000 blus/4ks combined lol but anyway. Got it today and the reason I immediately saw that made me not like it is 2 of the top discs have circular scratches on them, and no I didn't spin the discs before taking them out. So that would be a big reason why for me. I ended up cutting some thing tissue paper into circles to put in between them to prevent that from continuing to get worse.

Note that even though this website is reporting this being a steelbook, it is just a slipcover over a standard blu-ray case, as noted and pictured on the Dark Sky Official Site.

The TCM release, or at least one of them, is up a $300 set with prop chainsaw and a VHS. The wording leaves some wiggle room for the 4K/BD release also getting a separate listing outside the big box. It does make it clear it’s an o-card release like Blackout though, no SteelBook. I’m thinking from that earlier picture in this thread the Ti West movies and Faces of Death specifically are what’s being mentioned by the Collector’s Edition SteelBooks.

Dark Sky Selects have finally announced a new 4K release of Ti West's The Innkeepers (2011) after teasing the title for around two years. Though perhaps too little, too late, with Second Sight UK just announcing a likely superior version last week. This US release will come in a Steelbook, and includes some of the same extras as the Secon Sight release. There is no mention of Dolby Vision like the UK release however.

Limited Edition 4K UHD + Blu-ray Steelcase
FULLY RESTORED 4K UHD

Release Date: 08/26/2025
After over one hundred years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. The last remaining employees -Claire and Luke - are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England’s most haunted hotels. As the Inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage “ghost hunters” begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long unexplained history.

Dark Sky Selects proudly presents THE INNKEEPERS, directed by modern horror maestro Ti West, in this stunning 4K UHD collector’s edition including newly produced bonus features. This meticulously restored release brings new life to the film’s eerie atmosphere, enhancing every shadow in West’s chilling ghost story.

NEW Bonus Features:
  • A Lasting Memory: an interview with Director Ti West
  • Let’s Make This Good: an interview with Actor Pat Healy
  • Our Dysfunctional World: an interview with Producer Larry Fessenden
  • Living in the Process: an interview with Cinematographer Eliot Rockett
  • Cast A Wide Net: an interview with Composer Jeff Grace
  • A Validating Moment: an interview with Line Producer Jacob Jaffke

Lol. How many times will these two films be re-released? They're the Evil Dead of the 2020's.

For some reason I thought they were only going to reissue a blu in steel package for Innkeepers. Not sure if they changed their mind or I just had the info wrong. Either way, nice to see the 4k option.
