I bought Battle Beyond the Stars steelbook in the recent sale and received it today. These people shipped it in a padded envelope…that arrived opened and of course the steelbook is bent. Use a box people!

Around but not necessarily on the first. Shout favors Mondays; it wasn’t until this month that 2024 announcements were made on a different day of the week. The dates have ranged from the 29th - 8th. Only twice have 2024 announcements come on the 1st (April and July).

Based on recent trends, September 30th would be my first guess, but we’ll see what happens.

The new 4K of Body Double got me thinking about another Craig Wasson classic: I’m beyond ready for Shout to upgrade Ghost Story (1981) from Blu-Ray to 4K. With a bonus open matte edition please, for those of us who fondly remember (how could we forget?!) the full frame VHS.

Hey, Shout Factory Official, is the label changing gears and focusing more on film production? Would be great if you could dispel those feelings/rumors. Nothing wrong with that except that’s what Anchor Bay wanted to do towards the, um, end. We all know how that turned out.

I recently got the SF release of Hammer's The Lost Continent.

I believe there was a replacement disc issued for this. Are there any markings on either the cover or the disc that tells what version of the disc you have?

Edit: Found an old post claiming that the corrected disc can be identified by a "R1" on the inner ring.

Mine does not appear to have that. Aside from the batch numbers, the only number I can find is a separate 020001 on the inner ring.

So did Shout! actually send the wrong disc to me, a full four years after the replacement? Or is the above info parhaps wrong?

I just got mine later last year from Shout, so I would assume it's the corrected version. No R1 on my rings.



It sounds like the issue was a handful of dropped frames. I could check the disc if you have an idea of where they were.
