This one from Addams shows that the new transfer has a tiny bit more detail than the old BD: https://slow.pics/c/2iPMRiTv and presumably more had they not taken off the top layer.

Erm...not sure what that Firm comparison is supposed to prove, it already looks much sharper than any of those AFV shots even in the worst encoded iteration, and in said iteration it's reducing stuff to blocky awfulness instead of taking a global bite out of the resolution of the whole image. They well have done something to AFV's encode but that source does not look anywhere near OG neg to me.
