Is there a market for used LD's?
I've held on to my collection of LD's......I'd sell if there is?

keep them , theatrical mixes , get some JBL pro cinema , then you'll be sorted , ,make money so buy near field mixes uhd blu , keep them , i made mistake 2000 sold some almost 100 laserdisc , only later to know the mixes are near field , and been buying them up again cheap and some newer titles , i not brought blu uhd atmos for half the no year now , fed up with near field mixes , new movies no longer interest me , i want the theatrical mixes

recent last no week so

the dvd blu is near field , this is theatrical so what if its Dolby Stereo 4.2.4

first early THX laserdisc program prototype , 2nd one was star trek 6

nearly everything on the THX list no longer exists , chinese hollywood is now a liemax , less bass = no baffle wall for noddles i guess ?
Empire Leicester Square 2013 got raped , slaughtered and gutted for a small liemax screen and super screen , just so it can confuse the public by excessive milking

CIC/UCI high wycombe THX
AMC Yorktown is where I went for a few films long after THX Left that theather,

THX certification is important to keep cinema QA in-check.
Cinemas became too confident with the advent of digital projection, that THX became a dying breed (and Lucasfilm selling THX also had a lot to do with it).
I wish that THX was still prevalent, even with the advent of digital cinemas.

I would say that THX was still very mixed for the Star Wars Original Trilogy.
The 1993-1995 theatrical THX LaserDiscs (and especially the 2006 Bonus DVDs) looked great when watched on a CRT TV, and they still sound great aside from some audio alterations (the LaserDisc sounds even better, as it was uncompressed unlike the DVD's 192 kbps audio).

The 1997 Special Edition 35mm prints were and still are the best looking and sounding versions of the Original Trilogy to this day.
The LaserDiscs still looked great (they are even better than the already top-notch 1993 LaserDisc masters), albeit not as good as the actual 35mm prints.
The 2004/2011 releases are awful, the audio mix is borked and so was the colour grading and the scan. And that was THX. The 2011 ones were slightly better but not by much.
The 2019 Disney restoration was not THX, but it sounded and looked good despite the DNR being a bit overdone. They looked the closest to the 1997 prints, even if they are a bit grainless.
The Blu-rays still used the same 2011 mix and are awful, but the 4K UHDs have new Atmos remixes which are good. Not as good as the 1997 DTS and Dolby Digital mixes, or even the original 70mm six-track mixes, but still really good and a massive improvement over the Dolby EX mix from 2004, and the DTS-ES mix from 2011 (which was also in the 2019 2K Blu-ray).
Ironic that out of the digital physical releases, the ones that sound and look best are the ones with no THX (the 2019 UHDs). Yet they still don't look as good as the 1997 Special Edition 35mm prints.

If I had a complaint, is that the THX LaserDiscs (and the 2006 Bonus DVDs) look poor on a modern HD/4K/8K environment. And they need to be viewed on a CRT TV or projector.
At the very least, get a RetroTINK-4K, hook up your LaserDisc player to it, and turn on CRT shaders while zooming in to fill the 16:9 width.

Sad to see those photos. Lucasfilm poured so much to the film industry.
