Shame Masters Of The Universe has been pushed back till February! I was gonna get it in December as an early Christmas present for myself.

Still a bit weird they haven't announced any extras for this yet, or what might justify the price...

Rumour is the delay is so they can include an inflatable life-size Dolph Lundgren with the limited edition set, but they had to wait on likeness approval from Dolph.

Now it’s been put back to February I wouldn’t expect to see any specs at all until at least Mid-December

I get the impression the extras won't be any different to what Umbrella put out but I do hope to be wrong.

From Saturday morning cartoon to the big screen in one muscle-bound leap, Dolph Lundgren brings an animated icon to life in Masters of the Universe. On the distant planet of Eternia the battle for Castle Grayskull has begun, and He-Man (Lundgren) must round up his army to fight off the powers of darkness led by Skeletor (an unrecognisable Frank Langella) and his horde of evil underlings. Big-budget with even bigger set-pieces, this far-out fantasy brings the henched hero vividly to life with memorable swordfights and even more memorable effects.

Not great, not bad, but Umbrella seems better, so that's what I'll go with.

Regarding the 2.0 audio, wouldn't this technically be a stereo surround track of some kind, considering when it was made? Ultra Stereo most likely? 88's Slaughterhouse Rock release only lists is as being stereo, but it does decide properly into the surrounds; I'd expect this to be the same.

Same extras only in the sense that everything here is already on Umbrella, but Umbrella actually has a few more. It's really annoying that we have to choose between more extras and supposedly better encoding, this should've been the definitive release. But hey, Umbrella's is in their BOGOF deal right now so...

Yeah I saw. Exact same extras. Was it impossible to get any of the cast involved in this???

I guess it was just easier to get what's already available...

In other words lazy. Robert Duncan McNeill, Anthony De Longis and Chelsea Field contributed interviews for the recent Cannon Film Guide by Austin Trunick so not like they won't talk about the movie.

I’m sure there will be a 4K release when the new film comes out. I’ll wait.
