7 releases, 8 films! That's the kind of lineup that used to be reserved for their major months like July and November. This is a super impressive lineup.

Canceling my pre-order of the newest French Florette/Manon Blu-ray release last year it was the right call. If done right, this will be a contender for 4K UHD of the year given the strength of the movies.

Meh, pretty dead month for me. Don't expect a difference for Some Like it Hot. We'll see what uptick we get with Ugetsu. The blu is from a 4K master already.

Might be in for Chungking Express.

Not sure I’ll be picking anything up, but April opens up a few very interesting possibilities…

- more than 5 releases every month;
- The Manchurian Candidate 4k should be coming soon;
- individual WKW likely means Fallen Angels soon (love it and think it’s way better than CE);
- Sansho the Bailiff 4K probably coming soon as well (the 4K restoration exists and I think the blu-ray has been released in Japan already).

I have the Pathe release from 2017 which was a 4K restoration. Is the release from last year just a reprint of the 2017 release or did they do another restoration?

I know...right? Any other month we would be happy to have at least a couple of these titles. Criterion is killing it so far in 2025. I think this month and March are the first time I want everything. I cannot believe there are negative comments being posted. April is a film lover's dream.

Absolutely love the cover for Jean de Florette / Manon of the Spring. Very beautiful films by the way. I watched my BD release last year and loved both movies. It should look incredible on 4K.
