I have had a lot of Blu Ray Players in the past and the 23fd is the best that I have had! It look and sound great. This thing is built like a tank.... I was going to get the Oppo player, but decided to get this Pioneer 23fd to match up with my Pro 111fd and my SC-27 receiver.

Have you tried using other player and see if the Kuro Link does make a difference. Of course with your display having the isf setting it may not be as noticeable. Nice set by the way. ![]() |

i have had the bdp23fd for a few weeks now, previously i've owned a lot of bluray players(bd30,bd55,bd35,ps3,bdps500 and played with near everyone on the market today as part of my job) and aside from the panasonic players this ranks up there with my favorites. its not a speed demon but i don't remember my bd55 being that much faster. on some java intensive discs its slow but i can deal. menu operations are smooth and never had it freeze on anything. i also have a decent amount of pioneer equipment and was curious how Kuro link would work out. theres a plasma tv preset mode in there for pioneer pdp but i don't see much happening when i turn it on/off. i had dan miller come and calibrate my pro111 so i leave all that stuff off anyway. the hdmi -cec is fun and convenient but i use my harmony one. i used pqls a few times and heard a small difference but nothing night and day. i bought the player cause being in the industry i know what a commitment to quality pioneer elite has, it has source direct which my bd55 didnt, and having it say all elite on my equipment was just cool cosmetically.

Very well. I just found it interesting that the product info on the website list:
"The new KURO LINK Video Adjustment System automatically switches to optimal video settings adjusted by unique parameters developed by Pioneer KURO and Blu-ray Disc player engineers". Interested in hearing if more people have done any comparison and if it's enough to sway my decision in getting the Elite. I agree with you and other people who believes in the high quality of the Elite product. |

Everyone can appreciate quality and that is what the BDP 23 is from the ground up. This player has the unique features of players, twice and tree times the price. And to offer it at a discount price of 50% off no one can top that.

Great player in very aspect PQ & AQ. Its the best player for the buck. I would never second guess it. I just had a bad experience with BB, so I had to return it. Had I not had a bad experience I would not have chosen the Oppo. I do miss my 23fd because it look so sexy with my receiver and Pro-111.
