PS5 versions are only released if a developer needs to do so, for the purpose of taking advantage of the extra horsepower of the PS5/PS5 Pro, with optimizations for the SSD and GPU. That's why there is a PS5 version of Skyrim Special Edition and some other high-selling 3D games that are known to be graphics intensive.

Probably more want than need, there are plenty of PS5 games that do not need the power of PS5. I'm sure some games get native versions on PS4 and PS5 to boost sales, PS5 games show up first if you are using your console to discover new games...and we can't ignore those garbage games that trophy/achievement hunters use to pad their scores. None of them need two editions but ppl will buy both for an extra platinum.

I'm probably being paranoid, but I just pre-ordered the UK release through Amazon UK. It costs a few dollars more than the Amazon US release would, but I can rely on getting a copy after release. The lack of US pre-orders is idiotic, and I can easily picture them underestimating demand and printing too small a batch.

Yeah, I don't get it either. I also don't like how cagey they are about a potential Collector's Edition. A definitive "No" or "Yes" would've been better.

Probably for LRG's to handle. I could see them wanting to remake the Ghaleon punching puppet for sure.

The short takeaway, is that these are newly remade versions of Lunar 1 and 2, built using the visual assets of the older releases, but with new voices and some new music added in.

GungHo just dropped a story trailer on their Facebook, featuring the remastered animation, new voices, music, etc. from both games. The release date has been listed as 4/18, so it's right around the corner.
