I caught up with some of the FCE releases I picked up during the liquidation sale at VS, and I thought Born to Win was OK but pretty forgettable, and I found The Coca-Cola Kid to be really strange and not necessarily in an interesting way. It's a fish out of water anti-comedy where none of the jokes land and the romance is beyond contrived. It needed more Australia and less Eric Roberts going aw-shucks in a southern drawl.

Basically, you mean we need less of Eric Roberts in the Coca-Cola Kid, and more of him in Best of the Best on 4K

Absolutely, give the man something to work with!

It may be utterly unfounded, but given that the screenplay was actually written by a proper Australian, I blame the Yugoslavian director who's mostly known for pervert nonsense (including some that involves children) that was popular with some artsy-fartsy film circles in the 70s. I guess this was his attempt at a more mainstream movie, but there's some sort of cultural barrier at play here, or it's just inept film-making.

Looks like Amazon still has both Rancho Deluxe, and Alphabet City available on their website might look for Cutters Way too as three titles from when Fun City had an MGM deal are the only ones that interest me from before 2024. I think I am going to pick these up next month since they’re sold out practically everywhere else besides EBay.

Christ, I figured prices would come down on the slip versions of Heavenly Bodies and Paradise but instead they range from $300 to $500 dollars now! Shoulda bought one when they were only $100-200

Avoid Metaluna store! I got it from there only for them to send me the standard edition, and now I'm the same situation as you. I will wait, it will probably come down anyway.

It's annoying. I mean that's money out of the label's pockets, right? Instead of buying their next few releases I have to horde cash to catch up with releases I missed through third parties

It's kinda hard to miss releases, all you have to do is check into this site just once or twice a week. Now, if you're talking about sitting on the fence and waiting stuff out - that's a risk you're gonna have to take.

If you have as many interests as I do, it's not just a quick and easy check like you say, not to mention that not everything gets spotlighted. Also personally, because of how busy I am and my interests are growing exponentially, I could have sworn this movie was another one that I had purchased an LE for. I mean ok, my bad there, but checking as you say won't be that easy.

I mean if someone is willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a slipcover, they can do it now or two years from now I guess.

Also, if that's what you're about, I would think that an additional $25 for a nonslip edition would be chump change

I know. I wasn't checking this site as much during the summer and it cost me big. I just didn't expect them both to sell out months in advance. It's not exactly like these were both considered cult classics. Cult films for sure.

I say just buy the standard editions they’re way cheaper that’s what I did screw the slips sometimes I end up getting slips sometimes I don’t it’s not worth it to pay hundreds of dollars for a piece of cardboard. I don’t get why people are so obsessed with slips it’s a bit silly to be honest with you.

I hope FUN CITY will issue another movie never-before-on-homevideo like T.R. BASKIN (1971). I bought it a while back and was glad to have had the opportunity to pick it up.

Perhaps another movie will cross their viewfinder to issue on disc that's never been released before.

I think they already did that one I believe the Blu-Rays still in print too.

Doggone it well in that case what could fit as another new to physical Blu-Ray that could work that was only previously on VHS before I personally don’t know.
