Most people do their reseach before purchasing expensiv tv. most people have inquir about LED, plasma, dlp and so. during this process. they discover the Hi DeF resolution 720p, 1080i and 1080p. once they find all the information. most would pay a hundrad or two extra to get the best product out there, a hundrad or two realy doesn't matter when person is pay about $2000 for a tv. I educated my entire family about getting the best tv out there for the best price. and also pushed them to purchase blu ray, so we can swap movies to each other. so in openion most people will purchasing 1080p tv from now on. and i trully believe that most people will find out that toshib $200 player is not true HD, and they will purchase blu ray.
