I wouldn't say lying, but they made careless mistake.

Yeah, the 2.0 sound track is only in 192kbps.

And no, there's no extra at all on this BD beside the Theatrical Trailer... a big nothing ! so keep your UK SE !!!

192kbps is like CD quality sound. To label a lossy 2.0 track is just plain wrong.

Warner experienced something similar with Terminator 3. The package indicated 1080p video, but the disc was really only 1080i. WB then implemented an exchange program. The same will probably happen here.

Maybe it's just my Canadian release btw, we should wait before saying that every BD is like mine.

That's why I would love to have feedback on someone who bought it in the USA.

Cool

mine is on the way from Amazon it should be here from Amazon on Thursday as well but I am willing to be that Warner made another package error.on the subject of packaging I was at Best buy today and i saw a couple of copies of Catwoman I picked up the package to scan it and what do I see the movies name was not printed on the r the spine of the case it was just on front. when you display the movie on your shelf all you would see is the WB and blu-ray logo no movie name just a blank black spine LOL another big goof on Warners part when it comes to packaging. Wish i took a a picture on my phone. thought i would share that with everyone.

We don't have to worry about Catwoman though, no one is going to pick that up anyways.

I picked up the US version today. Now, I don't claim to be an audio buff in any way. If the audio is clear, then I'm good to go. That said, I know that some of you are audio buffs and I post this for you. This is a screen grab playing off of my PS3. I have no external speakers, so the PS3's stats are my only proof of what I can only assume is a TrueHD audio track. If I'm wrong, though, don't get mad at me for trying. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to different audio formats.

hello mr evideadlyimmortal:
Did you miss this? I hoped this post would help:

The only defect is WB not bumping CREEPSHOW and DEAD CALM to 5.1. I have a lot of BDs. Close to a grand amount and every time I see DolbyTruHD that is less than 5.1 on a WB BD, I KNOW I'm not going to see my DENON read DolbyTruHD. In fact, like FALLING DOWN; amp says Dolby PL II Cinema, which means WTF; where's the TruHD?
I can think of over 5 WB titles that do this.
If you like the film like I do; I suggest you swallow your pride and (I'm past irritated) and just turn the sound up; because the BD will not be re-released differently nor another one behave differently.
Harsh but true as far as I know.
The DolbyTruHD may be encoded as http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...lm_blu-ray.htm
says, but the amp isn't getting it. (Notice he mentions the weak sound....like DD is compared to Tru)

This the best i can say and I am also bummed when I smell a situation like this; but I saw it coming when I saw DolbyTrueHD 2.0 on the box but bought it anyway, knowing. (It still sounds and looks better than the DVD)
If the amp doesn't say it; it may not be there or hard to read. The menu says nothing about DolbyTruHD anyway and offers no choice.
Warners strikes again!
++++++++
I appreciate your photo of the vid screen showing the audio output on CREEPSHOW. Same for DEAD CALM. I'm in the US.
Warners does this a lot and very few A/V reviewers catch it.
I think the BD was just ported over from the Laserdisc and Warners is lazy about many titles. I have the vinyl for CREEPSHOW and have always been a big fan and hate that they do this
but this is what they do
respond please as I have been looking for others who notice this
WB used to be the best in media and now they are not

Falling Down, Grumpy Old Men, and Dead Calm are TrueHD. Its supposed to say Dolby PL II Cinema because a stereo surround track is being sent to the receiver.

The only time it will say TrueHD 5.1 is when a 5.1 signal is being sent to the receiver. Its the same way with DVDs that also have 2.0 Surround tracks, its encoded in Dolby Digital but the receiver is only picking up a stereo surround signal.

And the same thing also happens with DTS-HD MA 2.0, it does not say DTS HD-MA on the receiver. It says Pro-Logic II on the receiever.

As for a 5.1 remix?

Warner either did have the elements to do a proper remix or they didn't want to spend money on a title that may not sell a lot of copies.

Thanks radewagon for your picture, Now I can clearly see that my copy is faulty, because this is not normal that I only have a Dolby Digital 2.0 track on it when you have the TrueHD 2.0 !

A picture of the Menu of the BD would be great too btw, if you can do it please, so I could see that there is more than one line on the Spoken Language menu. Thanks !

@nazdar : I can understand what you are saying, that TrueHD can sometime don't apper on the A/V panel, ok, i'm fine with that, but THIS is not the case here. The back cover say that this BD contain THREE sound track, when in fact, there is only ONE ! Where's even the French track ??? My PS3 is plugged with a HMDI cable on my A/V, and all my other BD titles work at 100%, I can clearly see TrueHD in the PS3 information bar on other titles, but not on Creepshow, it's really written Dolby Digital 2.0 at 192kbps, and this is not TrueHD 2.0 kbps !!! And anyway, where's the french sound track then if it's just a bug ???!!!

Anyway, thanks for letting me know about US release, now I can clearly see that they F the Canadian release, because radewagon just prouved me that he have the TrueHD track on his disc. Thanks !
