At the very least, Shout will only release it in one of their crappy slips. I do hope they license it out to Arrow or 88 Films.

I'm not sure what the source on this will be, but I hope it is at least an improvement over the Japanese BD I have. That's pretty decent actually especially with the LD mono mix muxed in but hopefully we get this off an IP at the least. Who knows what quality the source materials are in (or even what they are? OCN, IP, IN???) or what will be delivered to Shout? I hope they at least have a lossless mono Cantonese track.

I am nervously optimistic.

Number one, and most importantly: THESE WILL NOT BE AI UPSCALES. Shout is taking these VERY seriously, and isn't just repackaging things and calling it a day. These two will have brand new restorations never seen before.

Secondly: Irongod and I are doing our usual thing that we've done for HK titles from 88, Arrow, Eureka, etc, and we're making sure each film has their proper original theatrical Cantonese mono mixes, among other research that we can dive into much later.

In short: trust the process, we're just warming up.

And if you Shout Factory haters are getting the scaries, just buy the digital versions. No audio choices though but hey, no scratched discs.

Shout is going to make so much money off this line and good for them. They really need to use it to take care of their quality control issues because I know there will also be people holding out to see what, if anything, is wrong with the discs when people start getting them.

Great news. Another member did make a thread previously, but not sourcing anything official like this thread has. Also, this appears to be the first confirmation of Shout licensing their Golden Princess films to another company.
