I bought the Jet Li 5-Film Bundle when it was $14.99 on iTunes this past weekend and can confirm Shout licensed 88's 4K masters.

This is now part of the 3 for £50 deal on HMV but I'm hesitant to get it as I have a UB820 and it seems there are audio sync issues on that player according to this thread?

And Sony Blu, PS4 blu, LG blu, PS5 4K and LG 4K. I can't get either the Blu or the 4k from this set to play properly across 5 different players. I'm convinced the audio is not synced on the master and affects both blu and 4K. By comparison it's perfect on my older Cine-Asia / Dragon Dynasty DVD, although that dvd track is a hot mess. Arguably the PS5 uhd playback narrows the sync a fraction but it's still off. Audio is a few milliseconds ahead throughout the movie.

I would agree with you, but the disc plays fine and in sync on the Oppo 203, and other users have also stated that they have no problems, so I think the issue does not lie with the source. I get the feeling this is one of those odd Dolby Vision sync issues, similar to what happened with Arrow's recent TEXAS CHAINSAW II disc, which played with audio but no video on the Panasonic 820.

Can you trying disabling DV on your players and using HDR instead? See if that helps with the sync.

As noted in my comments, the issue occurs also on the blu ray so Dolby Vision and HDR doesn't apply. I tested both included discs (uhd & blu ray) across 5 different players. The issue isn't so noticeable in fight scenes but it's there and once noticed, it's hard to overlook. If anyone compares earlier dvd release in the same sitting, it's really obvious. The sound occurs just a touch early.

Sync was off for me on the 4k. Sony 4k player (DV disabled) to PJ. The hits made it really obvious. Added 200ms on my AVR and the movie was watchable.

I see this came out in the UK. If I just want the domestic Blu-ray (I think it was Ronin or something that made it), is that one any good? Is it a night and day improvement? Thanks.

I played both 4K and Blu-ray discs on my Panasonic UB820 first and the audio was completely off in each case. (The player has "Audio Delay" option but I couldn't figure out the right number for this particular release.)

Then I played them on my Sony X800M2, and voilà, the audio had no problem at all there.

What's doubly frustrating is that once again 88 Films has made English subtitles scorching white on the 4K disc that you wish you could use Panasonic player's subtitle luminance control.

For now, I'll have to settle for watching the Blu-ray disc on Sony X800M2. What a joke.
The scorching white subtitles makes these releases unwatchable for me. It's truly unfortunate and i attribute it to poor quality control. The one Asian release (which are the only ones i need subtitles for) that got the subtitles right is ”Ran” by Studiocanal.

The correct line (and how it was in my original file) is:

"Just say they were eaten by black kites!"

So now you know.
Mark received criticism for his translation work in the Shout Golden Princess sub forum. So out of curiosity I compared the Tai Chi Master 4K subs with clips of the film on YouTube with either the Dragon Dynasty or CineAsia subs and Mark's are much better. Respect regardless of your process.

Also, the 88 4K disc is out of sync but I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't read comments here. If you're a casual viewer or only use TV speakers, keep that in mind.

Does this mean they received licenses for the films from the official rights owners rather than 88 Films or that the transfers they're releasing are different from the ones 88 films used? It's not clear. It seems like some of the special features are shared between releases and that some users think the films look about the same.

Hey I know this post is a bit late but here is my experience from the two players I have watched back-to-back:

XBOX Series X: Perfectly in sync during the hits
Panasonic UB9000 (HDR10): Often out of sync during the hits (early)

So yeah seems player dependent

Also if the Shout disc is anything like the Shout stream on Tubi ,.the subtitle translation on the Shout is terrible in comparison to 88 films
