As long as they don't remake Watermelon Man,The Mack,Superfly,Dolemite,The Human Tornado,Coffy,Foxy, Brown,Slaughter,Truck Turner,Blacula, etc., these low budget films are cult classics in their own right and should not be given the big budget Hollywood treatment, they've already done it to Shaft.

Not sure if much can be done with those, since they were shot on a shoestring budget, most likely with cheap film stocks.

What is so special about these movies? I think they should be re-made. If a movie like The Day The Earth Stood Still can be re-made, so does these movies.

The reason these movies SHOULDN'T and CAN'T be remade is because they all have the same underlying message that went with the times. If they were to be made again, that would all get washed out(Shaft!!!) because it's not PC. Plus the single greatest thing about all of them for me is the language. CAN YA DIG IT lol

Blaxploitation is a film genre that emerged in the United States in the early 1970s when many exploitation films were made that targeted the urban black audience; the word itself is a portmanteau of the words "black" and "exploitation." Blaxploitation films were the first to feature soundtracks of funk and soul music. These films starred primarily black actors.[1] Variety magazine credited Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song with the invention of the blaxploitation genre. Others argue that the Hollywood-financed film Shaft is closer to being blaxploitation, and thus, is more likely to have begun the genre.[2]

Gotta love wikipedia sometimes, LOL.

The movies would be next to impossible to make now. Too many people would get way too butthurt over them.

The Mack is my favorite: "You know the game, your chick chose me. Now we can handle this like men, or we can get into some gangsta sh!t." Gotta luv Goldie.

Superfly is a close second.
