I got a better deal for a Kino title. $16.93 for General's Daughter. Who are they price matching?

Just a random Amazon discounting of Shout? Noticed almost all the top banner deals with SF so I went through a few pages and some of those are the lowest I've seen, very comparable to Shout's big sales.

Banger of a sale at Amazon. Picked up Thinner CE finally along with Frankie Freako which I'd been wanting to check out since it was first announced as well as the Prophecy 3 film collection from VS which had an additional 25% off coupon for me, bringing the price of that abomination of a film set to $28 and change.

If prices hold out, I may go back for some Hammer's, Phantom of the Paradise, Serial Mom, and a few other films/editions I had long ago decided that i'd likely never own. Gotta jump on deals when they come along.

I couldn't believe Amazon had the Friday the 13th box set for $51 yesterday. I was gonna grab a back up copy but waited too long.

I saw that when I was just browsing deals overnight at my work desk. Snagged it and it went back up to $169 within a couple of hours.

The amount of scratches I get form them are ridiculous at this point. Just got Candyman in from Amazon, and it's completely scratched, skips like crazy.

Just ridiculous at the amount of messed up discs in my collection are from them.

The Amazon listings of titles on sale say Ends in 5:45:00 as of posting this, so 3 AM EST, for anyone considering any of the prices. Of course they could linger at those prices for awhile, but just worth noting.

Same old Scratch Factory.

Sigh...

I just ordered a bunch of 4Ks from the Amazon sale.

I was hoping they've changed.

Hopefully mine will be scratch-free

I got a copy of Freaky 4K (Blind buy, really good price) from Amazon for their Scream 4K Sale. Absolutely a re-wrapped copy with loose discs, fingerprints all over the discs. Shockingly no scratches, so I'm not bothered too much since this one was slipless from the start.

I do really hate that Amazon resells re-wrapped items as new though.

I can't even trust Shout's store itself with re-wrapped items. Got the Dawn of the Dead 4k during the October sale. It was clearly re-wrapped and the 4k disc had fingerprints on it and some light scratches. I tried to get a replacement but they shot me down because the scratch wasn't big enough. Luckily the disc played with no issues.

Well, I picked up some Scream Factory discs for the first time in a while (aside from the Shaw box sets).
I ordered the Pumpkinhead 4K steelbook, Bubba Ho-Tep 4K, The Exorcist III 4K, and Candyman 4K.

Unfortunately, the Candyman 4K disc was scratched to hell and back.
Good thing I ordered through Amazon because the Shout Store makes you jump through hoops even though they are well aware their discs have a scratch problem.
At least it was only one out of the bunch this time.
I still have Cat People 4K on the way but I'm less than optimistic.

I think might have found a copyright entry for the deal where Shout acquired the Open Road Films library. I'm not sure if this is just digital rights, or also physical either. Shout isn't actually named here, so I really can't say for sure, but several films on the list are available digitally now and open with Shout's logo. I just tested Machete Kills via the Roku channel as one example.

Many of these are listed as Shout! Factory on Vudu. That does look like the licensing agreement for the OR titles, but the question is whether it's just digital or if it also included physical.

Seeing this now over on Shout Factory:

Canadian Orders: We now partner with Passport to calculate and collect all applicable shipping costs, import taxes, customs duties, and brokerage fees at checkout. This means the total landed cost is displayed upfront, reducing the likelihood of unexpected charges upon delivery.

Canadian Carriers: Orders to Canada are shipped via USPS in collaboration with GlobalPost and delivered to Canada Post at the US-Canada border. Canadian orders are now fully trackable through Passport. Once your order ships, you’ll receive a tracking link via email that allows you to monitor the shipment from dispatch through final delivery. Some orders to Canada may ship via FedEx International Ground depending on their weight, size, and contents.

* * *

Soooo, if I am understanding this right, it's now kinda' like Amazon.com where you pay tax/duties etc. at checkout and are not hit with any other fees/charges for the order? (Though I do see it says "reducing the likelyhood" so I guess that's not an ALL clear kinda thing)

Sounds like that's the idea. I wonder if they might eventually use that service to ship titles out internationally that they have worldwide rights to?

Here's the website for the company: https://passportglobal.com/
