I am going to jump back into this game and try to complete it by this summer I hope. Just have to dedicate the time and persistence to get through some of the creepy areas and puzzles. The game takes its time, that is true.

It's really just the first playthrough, that takes around 18 hours. A second run can go way quicker, because you know the puzzle solutions and can bypass many puzzles, if you remember or look up the necessary codes. It's easy to beat the game in 6 hours or less, without even speedrunning it. Plus: You'll have a chainsaw in new game+, which will allow you to dispose of enemies, and even some of the bosses, in mere seconds.

A bit perplexed by the SH3 rumour mill. I know some of the assets from 2 could go into 3, but the plot of 1 immediately gets proceeded by the events in 3. So remaking 3 before 1 may not make sense.

I can see the series getting milked. I don't know if that will necessarily lead to bad games, but when Capcom does it with RE, I do frown upon certain games or question why some story aspects are just there for the sake of it.

I want Silent Hill 1 next. That would be great if they insist on remakes from Bloober team.

One thing I really like about Silent Hill 2 is the weapons don't break. In games like Dead Rising, or Days Gone, the weapons break too fast. Although Days Gone you can repair them, which is nice.

Same with Fallout 3. That was my favorite aspect of scavenging enemies for parts to the weapons and armor to repair. Then you hear the zip and tearing of the duct tape and clinking of the hammer as your valuable weapon or armor repaired. Fallout 4 completely ditched that awesome feature, replacing it with building stuff instead. Not as purposeful or fun IMO.

Be prepared for more news from Bloober Team today.

https://gamingbolt.com/cronos-the-ne...-on-march-20th

They said a surprise is in store. Could it be SH2 content?

I finished the game and am now on NG+ playthrough and cleaning up collectibles. And yeah the game goes much quicker with the chainsaw and you aren't searching every room. I am just following a platinum walkthrough video that is only 3 hours long but it's still going to take me like 8 hours to do it.

It's a little more on this way on NG+ I guess. But the first playthrough had a ton of tension and was so creepy. So it was good for that experience too, even though it took so long.

I was disappointed I felt like nothing was explained in the end. I had to google and look on Reddit to find out what the otherworld is supposed to be, why it exists,
[Show spoiler]and if anything was even real. when I finshed, especially with the flashback to the car, assumed the entire game was his dream. But no the consensus seems to be it's all real but somehow different for the various people in the town.

They don't really explain about it in the original game either. James just hops in a car after reading a letter from Mary. This may explain why people outside of Silent Hill are not immune to being summoned there, even by force.

It hasn't got a release date yet, but f is probably coming out around Halloween.

Is anyone else disappointed that the Maria DLC hasn't been announced yet? You would think Bloober Team would be itching to get it out there with SH2 being so popular.

Still no gameplay on it yet, but hopefully soon to see what it's all about beyond the cinematic previews. Konami hiring 3rd parties to make their games now instead of in-house 1st party games.

By now, I am surprised as many times, developers already have the DLC in progress to release within a year of the original game's release. But it might be good if a delay as Bloober Team were fully focused on getting the main game right first.

Maybe later 2025 some more news.
If a choice of new DLC or a new game, a new game but maybe they can get the DLC done faster since the foundation of the SH2 gameplay/assets is already there probably.

I finished NG+ and platted the game. It was pretty cool how so many trophies that I had been preparing for all NG+ just came together right at the end after a week and a half on NG+.

Now having played without the radio (it's a trophy), I actually think this is preferable lol. The game doesn't tell you that it can e turned off so I had it on the whole first playthrough. It does up the tension and make things creepier, but what it is not is useful. The monsters make plenty of noise so it's not like you don't hear one up ahead. The radio sometimes goes off when there's a monster on the floor above or below you which is confusing and not useful. And the mannequins, for which it would actually be useful since they hide and try to surprise you, it doesn't even work for them anyway!

The no guns trophy is very easy on NG+ with the chainsaw. Other than bosses everything is easy to hit with the chainsaw.

The endings weren't too hard to get. You just have to know what to collect.

I wish there were more save slots. I wanted to have one in every cool room but I ran out.

Overall I liked the game but do think it's a little long. And wish there were more answers in the end.

Not sure I'll play the new Silent Hill game.

I still haven't gotten around to replaying this on PC, but like a lot of you have mentioned I agree that it's too long. It's not just that some of the areas are clearly padded, but it also messes with the narrative. It's not a deal-breaker but it's just enough of an issue to keep me from wanting to jump back in.

I still haven't heard anything about the 'Born From a Wish' scenario. Surely Bloober Team must be working on it.

Great didn't know about that, I hope there are no trophies, don't really want to go back to this anytime soon.

The movie adaptation is coming out this year, and is said to be very faithful to SH2.
